This time it's GameSpy's (http://www.gamespy.com/) turn to preview Frontlines. Here's what they had to say about it:
Of the role specializations I've tinkered with, I found myself leaning towards the drone and air support roles (specifically, when playing as the Red Star Alliance). There's a great sense of satisfaction in deploying a tiny remote-controlled car, carefully navigating said car across a chaotic battlefield, parking it right under a tank, and finally watching the tank bloom into a cloud of smoke and fire. Or sending a flying recon drone to have it display enemy units on your mini-map, and then making it explode when the enemy finally notices the little object hovering above them.
The drone support role also provides the biggest visual difference between the two sides; the Red Star Alliance's anti-tank drone is the aforementioned RC-car-with-bombs, while the Western Coalition uses what is basically a rocket-turret with treads. For the air drone, the Red Star Alliance uses a decidedly aged-looking remote-control helicopter; the Western Coalition Army sports a drone that looks like a cross between a real-world Predator UAV and a Command & Conquer GDI Orca unit. I particularly liked pairing either role with a special ops soldier (who carries silenced weapons and C4 explosives) or anti-vehicle soldiers to make myself a one-man tank-buster.
