Remember all those questions you guys posted up when we first opened the site and promised an interview? Well today we are back and have some answers for you thanks to Frank DeLise, General Manager of Kaos Studios (http://www.kaosstudios.com/). Take a look at a few of them below:

6. Can we expect more content added to this game by patches or future expansion packs?

Yes, we are fully behind supporting the community. We plan on putting out content on a regular basis, from maps to new vehicles and weapons.

7. What are the flight physics like? Easy to master or will it take skill to control the beasts?

Air vehicles will be a bit easier to start off in then DC. However all vehicles has an expert mode you can put them in while in flight, allowing skilled pilots to out maneuver other pilots.

Click here to read the entire interview! (http://www.totalffow.com/page.php?do=frankinterview)

We would like to give a big thanks to Frank for taking time out of his busy schedule to answer some of our questions. With every question answered, Frontlines: Fuel of War continues to sound better and better. Stay tuned for more news!

Good read. Can't wait to play this game. My only concern is the "ranks". I've heard the ranks will not be like the BF2 ranks, I hope this is true. The BF2 rank system have KILLED the mod community, plus, people no longer play the game for the FUN of playing the game, they play it to gain meaningless stats.

"However all vehicles has an expert mode you can put them in while in flight, allowing skilled pilots to out maneuver other pilots."

AWESOME!
That will go over really well.

I hope they add ranks like in BF2

It compells me to play the game, if it had no ranks, I'd be all like "Oh, why am I playing this?" lol

because the lack of teamwork associated with BF2 is counteracted by the gameplay, which requires teamwork

I'm glad that these questions were finally answered. It's nice to hear that they will be adding new content frequently. This game sounds really promising.

From what I hear the ranks in FFOW will be done as such that you gain "level" the more you play on the server your currently on. For every level you gain access to new abilities with that class. When you switch server the level is reset and you have to fight your way up to that level again. This in my opinion makes the game more challenging, and also less "stationary" compared to the BF2/2142 rank structure. For each server you play on, you can choose to follow different paths since depending on how much you play as a certain class dictates when you get upgraded within said class. Next server you can choose to play as a different class and get upgraded.

4. Will you include naval combat, as well as infantry, vehicle and air combat? (Something I seriously miss from the good old days of Battlefield 1942.)

Glad my question was submitted :D ... And the answer seams to imply that a sequel or expansion is already in the planning stages.

Cool .. my question was submitted #12 :)))

Lol ... ranks will destroy the teamplay part of the game if they implement the same ranking system as BF2.
Why do you even wanna play for some random numbers? oO

Inevitably it will be compared to BF2/2142... BUT, remember this is ur3!! the bf2 engine has nothing on it. plus, from a modding standing point, with unreal scripting being as it... the control level is amazing. I think you guys will be amazed whence first entering the game at just the shear immensity of it all. kaos has really done a superb job in creating a playable environment that just kicks *** from all aspects. they are constantly keeping players in mind as they have been creating this game, afterall... they are gamers too :) I've been lucky enough to see some of the stuff at the studio on previous visits and I can tell you all that this game will most likely make bf2 a distant memory when it comes to gameplay for true gamers. Frank and all the guys/gals at Kaos have really created something special that I imagine will satisfy "teamwork" players as well as "ranked-type" players. I personally cannot wait! :)

I just realized that I asked question 6. I didn't even realize it until now, must have forgot since I submitted it when this site first started.

Morgan;178459']Stats are fun

Then go play with a calculator

Stats, in the manner implemented in BF2 & BF2142, is one of the most horrible innovations introduced into team based net games. Its not conducive of teamwork and in most circumstances encourages people to be f4cktards and w4nkers.

Ps....yay for me, question 5 is mine! Looks like I stumped em :D

As I think I said, having objectives in order to win the game may counteract that

Nice to have extra information anytime :)

I have two concerns:
1. Advanced mode for chopper flight characteristics is only engaged dynamically in the game, when the munition pods are retracted. This means that while the chopper is engaged in attack, you can't exercise advanced control. Why the hell not just make it a check box in your configuration options? So that when you feel confident, you can permanently engage advanced mode for either armour, air or infantry.
2. Creating a game that is the same across both Console and PC. Well, these are two very different markets with very different controller methods and player cultures. The losers of this one will be the PC culture and its approach to FPS genre, as many aspects designed for the Console will come over to the PC for consistency. Pretty bummed out by this news. It also flies in the face of THQ's press release about targeting the unique characteristics of each platform (which obviously includes the player cultures).

Couple of things,

A: Putting the Heli in expert mode does not put away the weapons. Thats stealth mode, which is different.

B: The PC SKU is in no way "nerfed" towards the console. Every vehicle, weapon, setting, etc.. is geared toward each platform.

Oh my God, it's an actual dev!!!

Mr. DeLise, a few questions if I may

1. Will we be able to use jets, at least in the PC version?

2. Will there be native support for Vista, 64-bit processing, and DX10?

[IS]FallenMorgan

Will I still be able to run it good on my current specs? Does the release date mean its gonna be changed to have higher gfx requirements or what?

You gotta love 6, nice to know this game will not stay buggy long. 7 doesn't sound so bad either, it will be good to have 2 dif modes for 2 different skills levels.
