View Full Version : Next-gen consoles to 'weak' for Crysis
Game Conviction: August 26th - The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 offer technical not enough qualities to run Crysis, in contrast to the PC.. This says Bernd Diemer the senior game designer at developer Crytek.
Crysis focus themselves thus mostly on graphic quality, and obtain everything from the highest adjusted PC's of nowadays. Diemer says that the CryEngine 2 where Crysis on runs, however, can be used for games for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

their focus on -Crysis PC Only- for now is to prove that PC are also Next-Gen and not only the X360 and PS3.

hmm ok but i gess they might have to turn it down for the 360 and ps3 so they can handle the game unlike computers they cant be upgraded with new hardware

Who ever thinks nextgen consoles are more powerful than computers(with the newest hardware) is sadly mistaken. Im not a big fan of consoles, and Im glad that they said "Crysis is too good for you consolies=]"

I'm a Sony fan, but if they think I'm paying $600 for a system, they're off their rocker.

PC FTW.
You can do more with a PC than a console ever will. As far as price affecting game sales I think not. Most PC gamers know that they have to keep up there systems to get those good graphics.
Plus multiplayer PC games are so much more better than consoles in multiplayer. Plus its free ;)

Regardless of the PC vs. Console neverending debate (I'm a PC guy anway)...I'm suprised they don't try porting it over to a next gen console to get a little extra revenue.

It will cost to much I think. Plus it might be to early, the only console it would look like it does on the PC is PS3 and thats way expensive so there a small market, nothing thats worth porting the game over.

They said that they are focusing on graphics quality. A port to the 360 means decreasing graphics quality, so even if you leave out money, it wouldn't make sense.
Personally I don't give a damn whether other people will get to play this game on their console, however if they start their whole "my console is better than console x"-routine, I'll be happy to tell them exactly what a lame heap of chips their beloved console really is compared to pc. Also, take into account that MS and Sony intended their consoles to stay for around 6 years. And then imagine where PC will be around that time ... LOL:p
While we're on the subject, has anyone ever seen the irony in the term HD-gaming that console fans have been throwing around, while PC has had higher resolutions 5 years ago? :p

That's the thing I'm laughing about the hole time, when someone says, PC don't has HD, but consoles does. And I ask, if they know what HD is... :D

PC's have ALWAYS been HD. Any resolution over 640x480 is high definition and in progressive scan. If you think consoles look good on your HDTV...connect your computer to a HDTV. Totally blows consoles out of the water...1600x1200 on a monitor is nearly twice the resolution than any console on a HDTV. Not to metion the fact that PC's have anti-aliasing and anisitropic filtering which really improves the picture quality over consoles.

Not really, ok, you can say HD because it is simply higher than the old console res. but HD itself as a norm begins at 1280 x 720.
