What is exactly the relationship between both?

I had heard rumors that EA might buy Crytek but Im pretty sure they haven't done so.

However, in many of the articles and trailers I see the EA logo. Can somebody explain? :)

EA does not own crytek, they are there publisher.

Indeed, EA has the rights about publishing crysis and Ubisoft, publisher of FarCry got the right to publish all FarCry games.
