I'm with "The_Guy". I'm sticking with BF2 as from what I've played of BF2142 from the Tuning Beta, I'm not impressed. Looks like a Mod...not a new game. Add to that that BF2142 will now incorporate EA's new in-game advertising (which will download new ads to display to you while in game)...and I'm just not interested.

But people are sheep and will flock to BF2142...I have no doubt it will be a big seller.

Other than that I'm looking forward to ET: Quake Wars, CoH, and next Dawn of War Expansion pack.

Some thing like that is fine with me, he will test it and see if it is a game he like, but he don't blame people that wan't to play the game. ;)

It's like this... EA/DICE very easily could have put a good 1-2 years into a next-gen game (like crysis for example) it would have been an expensive project because they would've had to start from scratch, and in the long run they may or may not have made a lot of money.

Their other option (which they obviously went with) was to build a new game of their existing engine, and build their next-gen game when the technology was more readily available (and cheaper to obtain).

Clearly, the latter was the more profitable choice... and to tell you the truth, I really can't blame them. I think BF2 is an amesome game (even with the little problems and such) and I'm not gonna go smash other gamers for playing 2142 even though I probably won't but it. However, when EA/DICE releases their next BF game and it has significant improvements over BF2 and other games, I WILL be buying.

That's my 2 cents. :P

I like the game with the futuristic style and I would miss it.

Many companies re-use engines for their games, so the fact that 2142 is made from the BF2 engine doesnt bother me. I find it a different kind of gameplay, atleast the titan mode. Its a fresh new look and I will be buying.

Totally aggree with puerto, just my words. Some people like gameplay more than graphics, as some like story movies and other senseless effect-movies, or am I wrong? ;)

Indeed and for me the bf2 engine is good enough for a game atm. ;)

Or look at Gothic 2, same engine like in Gothic 1 but every RPG fan here in germany loves gothic 2. ;)

I'll be playing World in Conflict(when it's out, playing the beta ATM), Company of Heroes, BF2 and 2142(BF2's good for vehicle gameplay and 2142 is good for infantry gameplay).

im at about 250hrs in 2142, so i'm done. I'll soon be playing bioshock, hopefully i'll figure out a way to get a comp that can run it:cry:.

I play ET: QW for about an hour, and hated pretty much everything about it, except air strike nades.

Well I will be playing mainly, Joint Operations: InternationalConflict. Some of you may be thinking, "why does he play that game its sooooo old?".
Well first and foremost it is the IC community that keeps me playing and the mod team do a great job (new mod out soon). Though it isnt a sim, for me it has a bit more realism and you dont get the bunny hopping masses like you do in BF2.
IMO gameplay is more important than graphic content

Edit: If you thing is BF2, please dont be offended, I just dont get on with it.
