Below some of the GameModes:

Multiplayer

Multiplayer in Crysis will consist of 4 main modes with a player limit of 32. These modes include:

* Tactical Deathmatch
* Tactical Team deathmatch
* Tactical Capture the flag
* Power Struggle

You'll notice that the multiplayer modes your familiar with are preceded with the word "Tactical". This is thanks to the dynamics in crysis such as suit customization, weapon customization and the many environmental dynamics such as interactive and destructible objects and vegetation.

Power Struggle is something that hasn't been seen in anyother game. This mode adds even further tactical possibilities. It will allow you to unlock the ability to buy items such as weapons and vehicles which can give an individual player a massive advantage.

:salute:

Ya, I think that power struggle is the maps where you seize the vehicle factory.

The text on the right:
Behind the name "Power struggle" is the fight for buildings and alien artefacts. The clou are the prestige points in crysis, with them you buy better equipment and stronger vehicles. You get em by killing enemys, but how many you get, depends on how strong your opponent was.
On this map "PS_Port" the US starts on the submarine(1) and the NK starts in their barracks(3). The mission: The capturing War factory(5) and hold it, find the ramdon spawning alien artefacts and bring them into the buildings for getting better weapons. Who destroys the enemy HQ first, wins.

I go after the Numbers

1. Us-Base
The submarine of the US is HQ, spawnpoint, armory and factory for small vehicles in one. Here the soldiers get their weapons with upgrades, special-suite with extensions, explosives or repait-tools. On PS_Port the following applies for the US-troops: small vehicles are only small boats. The submarine has got automatic sentry guns for protection.

2. HQ of the north koreans
The HQ of the NK is the primary target for the US-Troops. When it is destroyd, the game is over. But you can only destroy it with a special gun or C4. For the gun you need many prestige points and a better war factory with alien artefacts. The HQ has like the submarine auto-turrets.

3. Barracks for NK
The spawnpoint for the NK is like the submarine, you spawn there and buy weapons and stuff like med kits with your earned prstige points.

4. NK Factory for light vehivles
At the beginning the NK get jeeps there to be fast at the frontline, but the jeeps are a good avantage, 'cause you get alien artefacts faster with them.

5. War factory
The main-building in this game for which both sides will fight for. For capturing you need at least to soldiers standing in the middle of it for some time. Here you can build with prestige and alien energy tanks and choppers and upgrade them with better weapons. This building is the most important, cause with all the stuff you can win a game easier.

That's it, hope it's interesting for you. :)

This might of already been mentioned, but in multiplayer, will you be able to say, have the WHOLE island or so, to your selves, in a large free form deathmatch? Or will the multiplayer maps just be secluded areas on the various places (just parts of the island, carrier, space ship, and what else I've seen mentioned in articles)? I'd love to have the full freedom for me and my friends to just stalk each other from across an island or such.

Im not sure if the battles will be between the different atmospheres (jungle, carrier etc). Im pretty sure they will be secluded to various areas (large areas probably).

Still...Seeing the great potential this game has, you never know what we are going to get.

Well i don't mind if you can't go between the different environments. I'm just wondering if you'll have total run over a single entire environment. I mean if the maps can get to be at least Battlefield size (the larger BF maps at least), that'd be enough for me, but if they can get to be larger, then by damn, this will be a good day tater. Though I know some don't share the enthusiasm as I do with having ginormous maps with only 32 or less people in it, especially if they are dense jungle ones with people mostly hiding, cloaked, slowly stalking across the range (I imagine some dedicated people will wait almost an hour to track down and kill someone melee), I just like to have the ability to roam where I want to get to someone.

I think the environment in Crysis will offer as much freedom as you can get. They already mentioned that you can destroy/ cut down palm trees to distract the enemy (palm trees are not the only thing, apparently there is MUCH more you can destroy). So, destructable environments + big maps= Great Fun

Each map is set to fit 32 people so base your hypothesis around that.

The max number of players is 32 so the maps have to tif to that, but I don't think it will be the entire island...

Capture the flag will be a laugh.

It seems, that they don't make deathmatch like all we know, maybe, cause of the tactical...or they simply mean the game style at all.

DarQraven

Hmm I'm wondering about these gametypes. I have no doubt that deathmatch will not play like a normal deathmatch game at all, it's just indicating the scoring system. What I am confused about, however, is the quote about how buying vehicles and weapons has never been seen before... anyone ever played counterstrike or even CnC:Renegade? I don't see what's so revolutionary about it, except maybe that it's several game styles combined. You have to capture some building/point to be able to buy some stuff (quite like bf2, where tanks only spawn at certain locations), instead of just buying them from the start of the game.
I sure hope it works out well, because this would give me a better chance at uber-aimers. If I build up a tactical advantage over them, I will be more powerful...and that's good;)

What I really like is the fact, that it has the best engine so far and it seems they are doing good on the mp. :)

ReaperOfsouls
09-07-2006, 07:42 PM
Well they said you have to capture teh factory to build the vehicles then on top of that you have to search the map for "alen artifacts". The more you find the better vehicles you get.

Kadath
09-07-2006, 08:16 PM
And you get upgrades for the vehicles, this is going to be very interesting.

NOS anyone? :evil:

DarQraven

Lol, the pimptank. Tigerskin seats, diamond inlays on the barrel and hydraulic suspension. And of course giant spinner rims for the tank tracks ;)
What I really want to see is some more stuff about the weapons and a general idea of how the MP mode will be done. Will the Alien artifacts be randomly scattered (unpredictable, which is good. Bad thing: makes level design hard) or spawned at fixed locations? (everyone will be rushing them, level design could play in on this.)
How large will the maps be? Map settings? Damage style? (CS 2 shot kill style or Unreal "human bullethole" style?) etc etc

ReaperOfsouls
09-08-2006, 10:14 PM
Hope the artifacts are random to a point but not totally random.

Like have 8 diffrent spawn sets for them but make the spawn set order random.

So once you learn all the spawn sets once you see this artifact here you know what spawn set you are on and can locate the others easily but at the same time stop the initail rush.

As far as map sizes go they look like they are BF2 size which I can handle. Even though they are not bigger than BF2 maps they make it up 10 times over in diversitey, the environment is 10 times more detailed and you can go everywhere and do everything.

Kadath

Or maybe they do it like in cod headquater, where a sign appairs on your radar, where the next aa will spawn...

That'd be sweet :D

DarQraven

I guess their choice depends on how many players will be playing on 1 map, and how long they intend games to last. Let's say, 32 players, 16v16. 8 AA spawn points, that's 2 players per team per point. If you would not know where the artifacts would spawn, you'd have to divide your team equally, or gamble on a few locations and have a stronger force there. This would make games last a lot longer than if the artifacts had a set spawn order(or radar mark). Everyone would be rushing for them at once, until one team wins, and you would not have to search for them.
Downside to the randomness is that the game could become extremely complex. If you have to take into consideration what points to capture and hold, what weapons and vehicles to buy, where to send forces to either recapture or capture artifacts, where to defend, etc etc all without a central commander ... it would pretty much end up not being fun anymore. That's just too much all at the same time.

PuertoRecon

I agree. Having random spawnpoints doesn't seem like a good idea. I'd rather have fixed spawns, and that's probably how it's going to be.

[PTG]Fusion

Agree, I don’t think that having unfixed spawn points would work that well.
