Yes, as far as I know, there are no "official" requirements.

Crysis-Online is an "Information" site, not an "official" Crysis site. Correct me if Im wrong.

They are simply estimates made by myself based on the factors mentioned above. The minimum requirements may drop a little below that, but I don't think you would want anyless than that by the time Crysis comes out. Also remember that CryEngine2 will be very scalable.
These aren't official requirements, only made by the admin of the site.

There is no way these can be the official requirements they are still testing out many different drivers etc...

Indeed and it isn't like bf2142 with the bf2 engine we all know, it's a complete new engine, including effects and even physics, so only the developers could say anything about it, but even they only can bother.

Then in that case i do very much apologise for not finding accurate information. In future reference i will make sure its official;)

This DX10 thing confuses me, it says 7800 and dx10 with vista, isn't that not possible?

Read the post again reaper...It says 7800 OR DX10 equivalent.
So its saying that for best performance you need a 7800 or whatever resembles a 7800 that runs DX10.

Hmm, I should meet those reqs.
In about 2 days (if the mail service hurries up..) my rig will be:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (2.6ghz, 4mb L2 cache)
Asus P5LD2 mobo
2048mb Kingston PC6200 DDR2
Asus X1900XT 512mb OC
that should be able to at least set SOME settings to high ;)
And of course, who gives a damn about AF/AA... With all the leaves, trees and other stuff going on you'd have a hard time spotting jaggies.

I guess it does never end. A couple of months ago I got a new rig, and I already updated the parts it came with initially.

Well, since crysis is gonna be all Dx10 i didnt know if it would be compatitble.
Thats the thing im laughing about, isnt this why nvidia is offering such a great card (7900) for almost nothing (350)? Why? Its a Dx9 card, which wont support nearly as much as a dx10:laugh:

That's what gets me upset sometimes. They are charging quite an amount of money for 7900s and 7950s and they will not support the new DirectX

Nice ! Im asuming your sticking with your 939?
Same, Im picking up my new FX57 tommorow, I think it will be enuff for this game, Plus I overclock.:D
I also just picked up a asus crossfire 3200 board.
and am currently saveing for the R600 ATI monster when it comes out. Cant wait to see how fast it runs under XP..lol
Plus as far as I know this game will still run under a 32 bit
processor. Just wont look as nice.
ReaperOfsouls

Ya I have to stick with 939.
And they said that dual core is going to be a recommended requirement and that the game will utilize both cores to there full potential.
So I am getting dual core so I can run higher graphics with out getting cpu/frame lag.
Akuma
11-11-2006, 12:05 AM
Ppppppfffffttttthhththhthth. With a FX -60. Dont think your ganna have to worrie about lag. If it does fully use dual core, Im betting one core will be used for Physics to remove that berdun from the first. So your physics will be top noch.
Tho I think It will run fine at full on a single core. What will give the single cores lasting life will be how Vista ( when its ready) handles graphics on these new DX 10 games.
Some of the things these new GPU's are ganna do have never been done before. Somthing about the graphics chip using system memory. Waaay faster acces thru driver and ApI camands. and a slew of new stuff to take the load off the CPU. or eny single core for that matter.
Cant wait for it all to fall in place. But yeah Reaper. Ur dual will be faster in the FPS department no matter how high you set your visuals. Against my FX-57.
But that just means Im ganna look so pretty when im chasing you around with my gattling gun....LOL:p
Wonder how high you can overclock that bad boy.
Probably alot.:p

NE1 else think that dual and quad core cpus are going to be the death of the Ageia PhysX card?
Akuma
11-11-2006, 02:15 PM
Ultimatly in the long run, That is a defenit posabilaty.
And for cost to power ratio that would be the way to go for
game developers and consumers.
But remember. This would not only put Agiea to rest but also ATI and Nvidia, offerings as well. This would also mean
Havoc would have to stay grounded as well to game developers and not take to big a leap with the GPU giants in there dedicated GPU/physics cards.
Ultimatly its up to the game developers to dicide.
But I think it will eventually kill Agiea, ATI, and Nvidia,s
PPU cards. This way developers can use ther physics as a selling feature to there games. Since games dont need eny off the above offerings to run awsome environments.
Eg. > Crysis.
Plus the compatition in "who has the best physics" will give way to new breakthru on the tech side.
Using the same couple of engine's for all the games sounds kinda... . bland.
