I do not know what screen shots are dx10 and which ones are dx9 can some one post one of each so we all can see how much of a diffrence there really is.

I think the most ones are DX10 and the videos are all DX9. When you look on some screens with clouds or dust, looks to good for DX9.

I take my decision of DX9 or DX10 depending on the graphics, eye candy etc...

There is a Crysis DirectX 9 vs. 10 screenshot and video comparison out there. Spent afew mins trying to find it, couldn't.

I think what you're talking about is the screenshot that compares a crysis picture to a RL picture. ;)

There still really very much to use as comparison shots.

I am pretty sure that when TGS rolls around next weekend, we will see some DX10 footage and photos.

You can tell by looking at the physics, like the dust in the present picture.

I hered that the alien tank ( th aircarrier movie ) would move cloud particles as it breathes , in dx10 ofcourse o_0

lol that would be nice

So is theat the diffrence between DX10 and DX9? Physics? They would have to make it so dx9 people could have the same physics in multiplayer right?

Can you give link?

The over all physics would be the same in multiplayer like the bullet and granade trajectory but dx9 won’t have the dust and some of the extra shrapnel flying around

One would presume anyway

Everyone talks about the famous "dust". Can someone iluminate my mind a little bit, what is so great about this "dust"?

Yes, it looks awesome but what is so great about it and why can it only be featured in DX10?

I don't know any game, except crysis, whereclouds and dust are really volumetric, that's why it is so interesting. ;)

Umm, I must be mistaken then. I swore I had seen atleast similar effects in other games.

That'S true, like the clouds in cod2, the best so far, but even aren't volumetric.

I know I've seen some good effects of dust in helicopter games. I think doom has some aswell.

Volumetrics are not new. Cod2 had some 2d elements in the smoke clouds, but most were volumetric. GRAW had volumetric dust.
DX10 just offers a new way to handle volumetric effects more efficiently.
And it has little to nothing to do with physics, as that is still the realm of either the CPU or Ageia cards.

CoD2 had nice clouds, but there weren't volumetric, you just have to walk around them and you see they aren't. ;)

Then how come you are blinded for about 4-5 meters when you walk through them? A plane has no depth so that would not work? I wonder, would they have different effects depending on SP/MP?
All the clouds I've seen in SP are pretty much 3d to me (never played MP)
But ah well, point is, there's nothing new about volumetrics, DX10 just has a few new methods of rendering them. Promises a performance boost.

Yes, they are volumetric...They might be different than crysis, but they are volumetric. Takes you a couple of seconds to get through them sometimes.

I see, I don't stand a chance.

Edit: http://www.shedgames.com/Reviews/Images/Large/cod2_smoke.jpg

You simply have to look on the ground and you see, that they aren't volumetric, just nice made. Dunno how you can see something volumetric in there.
