I'm a bf2 player and really looking foward to this game, any news if there will be a demo or something that comes out? also when is the final game suppose to be released?

As of right now, there is no official word on the demo.

Release date hasn't been confirmed either. Some websites (like Babbages, EBGames) say January 1 2007 while other community websites say March 2007.

Don't expect the game to ship before Vista ships.

The guys from crytek are really community friendly, I think they'll release a demo before the game itself will ship, like it was for FarCry. :)

I read somewhere that it might be released as a magazine promo CD first, then released online.

Then the first mag will be gamestar, they where the first guys with facts and screens, before everybody else. :D

Crytek employees have said a demo with be released before launch. Also, many articles aswell as Crytek themselves have said the game will most likely release before windows vista. Some emplyees are still saying Q4, 2006 for the release.

It's all pretty sketchy at the moment.

How can a demo be finished months before a scheduled release? Heck, I think this game is still in diapers...

Yes he does have a point but this game is most likely going to be released after Vista so it doesn't make any sense that they would release a demo 4-6 months before the official release.

Well a demo is just a tiny little bit of a game;) and the demo have some bugs, we all saw the vidoes if they fix emīup you have a Sp demo :)

There are many people in crytek saying it will be finished in 2006, so a demo could come before vista and in the near future. ;)

If the developers are working as close as they say they're working with vista, I wouldn't see the point in releasing the game before Vista.

Why not? If they would release it before vista, they could work on the xp/200 feedback and then, when vista is out, the can work on the vista feedback for their game. So they wouldn't had to make patches for both systems at one moment.

Because if they release it for XP, I'm guessing they would have to create some kind of compatibility process for DX10. I'm not an expert, it may just be a simple patch, but maybe it's something more complicated that can take considerable time.

I don't think so, it's marketing because it is nicer with vista, but it will not be vista only, otherwise they wouldn't get enough money, not everybody is getting vista on release. ;)

No, its not vista only but they say it runs way better on vista, even if you only have DX9.

I can see them doing either of these things:

1) Make a version with the vista content in it, that just has to be unlocked by a simple patch when vista arrives.(which they probably will)
2) Make 2 separate versions. One for Xp/2000, that can be patched for vista once you decide to switch over. And one for Vista only...of course releasing that version like .. i dunno...a month earlier than the xp/2000 version. (Hey, it's still business eh?)

I know that not everyone is getting Vista. But like i've said (for the millionth time), there is so much hype for this game with vista/dx10 that I would not see it released before these two things are released. Having two different releases for the same game sounds absurd...The release for XP and vista should be on the same day.

Let's just leave it here...In every single post we say the same thing in different words :laugh: Let the future answer our questions...nuff said.

Come to think about it...Vista is scheduled for sometime around January, right? There are currently two release dates, 1/1/2007 and March (or april I'm not sure). How could a demo be right around the corner if the EARLIEST rumored release date is in January?

Unless you link me to an official site, I am afraid there isn't any truth to your statement. Not trying to be a smart@$$, btw.

I tend to not get excited until the FIRST release date is annouced... then wait for the delays...then wait for the demo :D


kinda like what im doing with STALKER since it was annouced way back in 02

oh yeh, and I've given up on Duke Nukem Forever... even tho i still post on their forums

How are you sure it says "The 8800 will be released in november"? Can you read that language?

Even if it does say that, I'm not believing it until I read it from the nVidia site.

No point in getting the G80 cards if Vista isn't out yet. What is the point of getting all of that horsepower if it won't be utilized for another 3-4 months? By the time Vista is out anyways the price on these cards will have dropped a bit and should be more widely available.


As for a demo for Crysis, I don't think we will see a demo this year as the release has been pushed back form this winter to Q1 '07.

There is gonna be so much sweet **** coming out in Q1 '07, that is where all of my money is going to be going anyways.
