There is some new news posted today over on FiringSquad (http://www.firingsquad.com/) saying that Crysis is yet again delayed. Here's what they had to say:
During Electronic Arts' quarterly financial conference call, EA execs confirmed that two upcoming game will not be released in their fiscal 2007 time period that ends on March 31, 2007. Both Crysis (the PC first person shooter from developer Crytek) and Army of Two (the co-op themed console action game) have been moved to EA's fiscal 2008 year that begins on April 1, 2007. No other specific release dates were revealed.

EA just needs the extra time to implement ADs in the the multiplayer. These things take time. LOL!

Well, look at it this way.
It will be time enough for vista bugs to be worked out and for us to save money for the hardware and for the bugs to be worked out of it.

I won't lie, Crysis looks very very impressive. It's top notch with its graphics and physics but not for long. In 2 YEARS someone else will have duplicated...perhaps even surpassed Crysis's engine.

Ya but that does not mean they can duplicate game play.

@Reaper, but since when do we know anything about the gameplay yet? ;)
On the one hand, I'm ticked off because now my xbox360-wielding-friends get to brag about their "ub0r1337 GfX" a lot longer before I can introduce Crysis's foot to their arse, on the other hand this will allow me to play other games properly. There are just so many good FPS games coming up the following months: GoW, Huxley, Quake Wars, ZELDA (not really fps, but who cares:P), 2142, Rainbow Six: Vegas, etc etc.... And I want to be able to play one properly before the next one comes out.
So nah, I'll enjoy myself until then.
Plus ... I have a life;)

Yes, we know of game modes, what weapons there will be and what you can do with them.
However, we have no idea whether it will play nicely.
Any game can claim to have a lot of game modes and gadgets and stuff, but still be a crappy game.
(mind you, I don't think Crysis will be a crappy game, but we don't have any proof that it's not)

I am almost glad that they are delaying it now, as it gives me more time to save for a new rig, and for them to make sure it is truly good when it is released, and not half assed liek all of the Battlefield games have been.

Thats ok.
Also gives them time to tweak for the Vista users out there to. Since the last gaming bench from the new OS was an absalute nightmare.
Apearently XP beats it in running most games if not all
by 50%. Also in some memory functions . The ones that
XP didnt slap vista around, it fell to side by side race.
If Microsoft want me to pay a crapload for ther new OS
it better at least run my games a little faster then the old,
Not the other way around. If I wanted to cripple my rig
I would just do it myself.. for free.;)
Enyways ..I know this is kinda, of rant. But considering the smell and were its coming from its totaly justified.
and o I know crytek delyed crysis not vista.
But im not getting vista till crysis is out....lol.
hahahaha later .......Akuma:laugh:

Considering how they said the game was in the last phase of development, this is quite frustrating. Let's just hope the delay, if real, is for good.
More time to save money for the peeps that needed to upgrade.

From what you read is always different from how it really is... Any true gamer should know this for ANY game.
But i for one welcome any and ALL delays.. atleast they didn't say they got hacked and needed to restart the hole thing again *thinks of half life*

More time to save money to upgrade, I just hope the 8800gtx does not jump to 1,000 dollers by the time the game gets ready to come out.

"True Gamer", rofl.
You must understand that the games change as they get developed.
And "true gamers" dont stats pad or use in game exploits ;)

Its now set for Q3 of 2007!! They have gone from Q1, then Q2, now we have to wait another 7-10 months for this game to come out. Seems to me that should have delayed announcing this game till E3 of 2007 since E3 will come and go AGAIN before this game is released.

To be honest, whoever thought the January 1st date was a realistic shipping date for Crysis was just having high expectations. April sounded reasonable, but maybe a little hurried. A Q3 date sounds just fine.
