Just go to FP, click the reserve demos tab and click the demo you want to reserve, you must be a paying member though.

They're the only organisation that's ever tried to force me to reserve a bunch of ones and zeros, which, on top of that, is ADVERTISING.
Don't try and twist it: demos are ads. They show us a preview of a product so that we will want to buy the whole thing.Why would I want to PAY for that?:S

BTW, do they know when the demo might be coming, as in, rough timeframe or something? (Don't need exact time-date, not going to be camping in front of my computer;) )

Q3 of this upcoming fiscal year, its probably not going to be at the beginning of the quarter but towards the end or middle.

And the game is going to have in game ads, hows that for advertising?

From the company's point of view, that has always been the purpose of demos.

Advertising has been around for a while, but yet people started complaining because of some 2142 dynamic ads. Well, get ready, because advertising is going to take over the video gaming industry more than it already has.

I have no real problem with advertising, and I realise that in the future there is going to be more and more of it. I just don't want to pay for it.
That's like paying for the right to watch TV ads... pretty f00ked.

Still, it's probably not Crytek that's wrong here, it's just Fileplanet that's closing all the deals with publishers.

(Btw, I just went to the PU Gameplay + GameExpo in the Netherlands yesterday. It was so lame! They had some new games, and Wii and Ps3, but the majority of it were games that were already out for a month.
On top of that, the tournaments and competitions were organised so badly it just wasn't AT ALL fair (think: halo 2 pre-update vs. halo 2 post-update matches... a.k.a. double the amount of damage vs. normal damage).
Pity I payed 15 euros for that;) While we were on the subject...)

And I agree that if games have advertisements, they should be a little cheaper.

To be honest advertisments don't bother me, infact they can make the game fell more real if there in realistic places, but in crysis they would look stupid. Like why in christ name would there be Lynx advert in the middle of the jungle.

The demo should be free. I would say that if they charge you for any media item it would be because you are getting some type of exclusive offer/access/mirror etc...

It is "free" if you have a paid account.

What I mean is, if you already have a paid account, they don't charge extra to your current subscription.

The demo is free for everyone when it comes out but to reserve it you have to be a paying FP member.

We dont get it before anyone, but the second it comes out the people who reserve it will automatically start downloading it, no waiting in lines, no slow d/l speeds.

You still can get the demo normally when it comes out, it just says you can download it right away when it comes out.

yeah it really is, but you see youre reserving it... you dont HAVE to reserve it, its a luxury to be able to reserve something therefor they CAN charge for it since its kinda like saying well i dont know what its saying but think of it as a luxury tax, this is why states in the U.S.(and probably many other places) DONT have taxes on necessities like foor, water, medicine. but DO have taxes on stuff like video games

you see you dont NEED the video game much like you dont NEED to reserve a demo

(in this case well treat getting the demo as a need) but you NEED to get the demo, which is why its free

Just google Crysis leaked or crysis beta or crysis demo. You will get the most with Crysis leaked but i mean, I don't even want to CLICK on the sites that come up.
