The Obsidian Edge 2 (http://www.obsidianedge.net/index.php) mod for Crysis has released their December update, which features new info on a game mode as well as environments within their mod. Take a look:
With the sands of time fast running out for 2006, we thought it appropriate to bring the community news of our current status and send you into the holiday season with optimism through our final update of the year.
What happened to the November update, we hear you cry?
The last month or so has been very difficult for the team. Sadly, we have had some change over in staff, and it has taken a while to for the new guys to get up to speed, but oh my have they got there now!
Also, as you will have seen from Cevat Yerli's recent statement regarding delays to Crysis, sometimes when you push the envelope of games design, the envelope pushes back... While it is a great honour to be selected to utilise the Crysis Pre-SDK, we also are effectively beta testing it for Crytek, so the going can often be slow.
Crytek have come through for us however, not only providing new builds with increased functionality, but also by helping us understand the similarities and differences between CryEngine1 & CryEngine2 so we can determine what type of development we can carry out at little risk in a Sandbox 1 environment, more of this later.
First though, we will start to provide more details on our new game modes, these are still works in progress and will be refined through play testing. While some will be entirely new to our OE1 fans, some will carry a flavour of the past. The first game mode we will discuss is called Enemy Territory and takes its origins from the OE1 VIP mode. For film buffs, think Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson. Read more... (http://www.obsidianedge.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=85&Itemid=)
