Crysis Release Date?

I was just searching the web about Crysis and stumbled upon this site saying the Crysis will be released on 09/01/2007. I don't know if this is right.

What has been officially said is Q3 of this year, thats sometime between July and September and that itself could change.

Keep looking, you keep finding more release dates that are totally unfounded, so you mine as well just stop wasting your time and stop making useless posts.

No, its not off topic.

One year has 12 months, each 3 months is a quarter, so Q3 is the third quarter of the year, so that would be the months I said, Q1 would be jan, feb, and mar, q2, april, may, june etc....

And then they have fiscal years which are 12 months but done line up with the calender per say.

If you dig through the news archive there was a post made months after E3 at a EA press conference saying that the game will be released in Q3. Its probally going to be later then that but that does not bother me.

The more I think about it the more I want it to get released later. First, they get more work done on it so people won't complain if it sucks (remember 2142 when it got released, main reason why I didn't buy it is because they went after money instead of taking their time to release a quality game.) And Vista and DX10 cards will get cheaper. My pc runs all the current games on high but maybe not Crysis so I won't update until it comes out.

lavbanka: I don't get it. What's with this whole mentality switch in the gaming world lately? Last year, everyone was nuts about these games and couldn't wait for them, then EA releases 2 crappy games in a row (which was to be expected, they were EA sequels after all), and suddenly we all want our games to come out around 2033, "so they will be better".
It's BS. Releasing a game later will not make it a better game. It's the development time/effort/efficiency that counts, not the release date.
I get the feeling that some of you guys/(girls?) would even want it to be delayed AFTER it's gone gold or something.
I've said the same thing over at the TQW forums: release date says absolutely nothing about the quality of the game. It's a matter of how far the game has advanced during it's development, whether the devs made the right choices, and if the engine is a monster, like bf2's, or not.

I think this sudden change of mentality is due to all those PC games being delayed lately. UT2K7(Now UT3), ET:QW, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, Spore, Fable 2 (and we're not even sure if it's even going to be a PC game at this point). Practically every A-list PC title has been delayed for more than a year.
The worst culprit here is the "when it's done" indication. It suggests that games have some kind of infinite development process, and that the developers have absolutely no idea when the thing will be finished. To that, once again, I say: BS. It's marketing.
Ok, so the developers needed some more time. Does that mean that all of these games will be bug-ridden monstrosities if they are released within 2007? Hell no. If the game is finished, it's finished, and no 'polishing' can take place beyond that point, because it's already finished.
If Crysis is finished around June, it's finished around June. Delaying it beyond the point of completion will not make it a better game.
And as far as we know, the game might be finished today, yesterday, tomorrow, june, july ... we have no bloody idea. The developers won't tell us.

So, if you're still with me here, saying that you want Crysis to be delayed/released later does not make any sense at all if you're not in the developer team of Crysis and have expert knowledge of the progress of the game.

agreed September is when halo 3 comes out though so why compete with such a large game. I know its a different platform but still many people cant just be like ima drop 100 on games today.

Because he's using that image is his source of proof. The problem is that picture has NO proof to be seen. You can't expect to just take his word on something the dev's have yet to even announce officially.

DarQraven, I do get your point. I never said release the game in 2033 ;) I know where you're going with the marketing idea. There are so many games that are released without being finished and having to be patched afterwards. BF2 and SimCity 4 are examples of it. I know the game will be released this year, and if they delayed any longer, better games would come out. All I want is no patches that screw up the game afterwards. (I don't know if this makes sense, I'm falling asleep already. :) )

I read from a very knowledgeable source that the game has not been put into development. All videos and pics so far are just some random images and clips they put together out of thin air. All the people that said they have played it were put up at gun point so we think they have done something.

Incase you don't get my point, it is that for all we know, what I wrote could be true(sorta....crap). We just don't know and until we either get a solid release date, which could change...Or a demo, or even better the game we just don't know. But for the hell of it I guess september 26 1992. I would definitely say that they are at least in Beta, in the video on the front page of the Total Crysis page the interview looked like it took place in front of a playable demo. Of course it's not the finished product, but Sept. 11th seems like a logical release date.

When you watch all the videos you see the lack of performance, sometimes it stops and something like that. The game itself looks really finished, ok you can't say if the campaign or the mp is finished, but I really hope so that they are now tweaking it all.

multiplayer beta probably in october and the game gets released nov/dec, unless it ends up needing a bunch more polish and tuning then I wouldn't expect it till next march or so.

I could see them pushing it out the door without dx10 support and then releasing a patch later, I doubt there's enough market penetration for Vista and DX10 hardware to really be that big of an issue, still I'm sure MS/Nvidia and Intel would like to sell new hardware and software and they know a killer app is what they need to do so.
