Is BF2 What You Thought It Would Be?

is bf2, as of patch 1.41 what you were expecting before the game's release? are you satisfied, or disappointed? please tell why.

i for one remember last year before it was released i was about to sh*t a brick. i had just played bf 1942 and bfV. i was very impressed with all aspects of both but they werent in a modern battlefield. now, looking back, i must say im kinda disappointed. EA's in-ability or unwillingness to deliver and the less-than-desireable community has really dulled the bf2 experience. how about you guys?

God that is a tough one. I got a lot of what I was hoping for, but since it has been over a year and half since it was released, I have really started to forget all that I wanted to see. I wanted to get the laser designator, I wanted shoulder fired missles AA, I wanted more unlocks. I think that 2142 got a lot of the features that I wanted to see in BF2. Guess it is OK though. QuakeWars is on the way. BF2 is still very fun, and at this point, I really wish it had more maps to choose from. I like to get on some Zatar, but you can never find it with a good ping.

You should put another option (next time, you can't delete this) that says,"I'm not in 1.41." There are many other versions still alive including 1.12 (aka, the noobish patch, and i live there, lol). When making polls (i'm a vet at that), it needs to consider practically all possibiblities (and the option of "other" sums it up)

Still, i feel let down. Many players abuse the game without thoughts of others and it just creates $hitstorms. No matter how many times i report, EA wouldn't mind this version, just the current one.

i remember years ago my brother showed me a bunch of trailers for bf2 like the missile through helicopter video, and i thought it was pretty cool, but i wouldnt play it cuz i had good ol cs 1.6 to enetertain me...and then the demo comes out and i get instantly addicted , and its still prob my fav game at the moment

BF2 isn't what I expected when I saw the first trailers, but it's still good. :)

My only complaint is the below average customer support. However, it seems that EA & DICE have stopped messing with the game and are just fixing bugs and exploits now.

Well I was pretty annoyed at it when DICE had those screenshots (like the blackhawk) but it didnt really matter that much. I didnt like what they did to make the gameplay worse than it was at release (patch 1.3, blackhawk nerf,)

Ye it didn't seem to make much diffrence to me I dont like that suicide glitch though it just is stupid although I think that I could have lived without 1.41.

I feel let down and actually screwed out of $50.00 I came into the BF2 world after being addicted to POE 1 in BFV and was hoping that EA/DICe took some of the things from the success of that mod and implemented it into the game. What I found out though was that choppers did not take much damage from tank shells, it took two clips to kill people, CS bunnyhopping returned, you couldnt shoot down planes with the tank shells, and the game just totally f'ed up the modding world. It was nothing that I expected and I felt severely let down after all of the bugs, glitches and craptastic exploits that seem to go unfixed with every excuse for a patch.

Needless to say, my last stop in the Battlefield Franchise is BF2.

Back when I only had the demo, my buddy showed me a bunch of vids, screenshots, ect.

It always looked so awesome..the vids made it look alot better than it really is though.

I'm not saying BF2 sucks, I love it, it's just not what I expected it to be.

Like my friend's Karkand videos, they made me want to play that map sooo freakin' bad...now that I have it, it's like "meh, it's Karkand. I know the ins and outs. Cool map."

But pretty soon I'll have a comp that can actually play a map other than Karkand.

Watch out jet whores, here I come. ;)
