First of all, I'm extreeeeeeemmmmemeeellyyy excited about Crysis, on to the point.

I've read that blood options are going to be in the game as there are going to be some crazy gore effects, but I got my 12 year old cousin all excited about Crysis then he showed his parents some game footage and since there is quite a bit of blood he's not going to be allowed to play it. So he came to me asking me to try and find out if you can completely turn off the blood or just make it even worse.

Thanks guys!

I don't know, what videos did you show him with lots of blood? I have seen most of them and there is little if any blood in my opinion(I am 14 btw). If you ever played unreal tournament 2004 the game had quite a bit of blood when you had it on, but if you turned on the no blood option, it turned the blood green(so it is not ACTUAL blood), but then added a lot more blood than on regular. So in short I don't know, but I have a feeling that it could maybe be something like that.

Hmm, well Gears of War is always an alternative I guess.

LOL! GoW = one of my fave games for 360 but yeah. There's the one with the marine getting shot in the head for one, there are a few others too, there's not a lot of blood but his parents are kinda strict.

Well in terms of a lot of gore in this game. I haven't really seen any, just some spraying when getting shot. Should be fine with it, I wish they would put in more though. Dismembered limbs and exploding heads, someone needs to make a sick mod with gore.

I don't mind gore as long as its real, i find it irritating when you blow someones leg off with a pistol. I don't mind getting hit by severed limbs as long as adequate force was used to remove the limb from its previous owner. I.E. a nice big explosion

I have a 12 year old brother who is also excited about this game, but seeing as my parents are gamers, I doubt they'll mind the gore :)

I can only imagine what will happen when that poor little guy shows his parents the new hot coffee mod for crysis ...

Seriously though, I don't think it's the blood that ticked off the parents. I suspect it's shooting people in the head with an assault rifle being the main objective of the game.

Far Cry had an option to turn off blood and bullet wounds, Crysis is made by the same guys and will probably by the same.

you know, gamers these days seem to love the blood and guts, but in Far Cry and any other game ive owned that had blood i just turned it off, i dont see a need for it it has no effect on the gameplay and if it looks real enough its nasty, i should think that Crysis will have an Off option like Far Cry did

Edit: lol just read the post above me and noticed it said teh same thing, at least i got my own opinion in there so it doesnt look like a double post

Im 17 and currently going to join the cost guard soon to become either a electronics freak or somthing in the medical field. But when I grow up and have kids, yes I will still be a gammer, this is my hobby, I love it and will never stop gamming. I Thank God for giving man the brains to make cool things such as Computers and Games :) .

they're only gonna get better ;) Aside from that, bring on the gore.

If it's a mature rated video game heck bring on the blood. Theres a diffeence between bloody (far Cry) and gore (UT2k4 or Doom 3)

I would rather want it to be T so more people would play it, but not have retarded kids who think everyone else is a noob and they're the best.

Haha, noobs, what would we do without them?

There are mostly only freaks that unlock blood, nobody wants to disable the blood. Maybe a 12year old is really a bit too young and I can't understand why it always depends on blood. Killing people is killing people, with or without blood doesn't change anything.

Maybe you should ask when the game's out.

Hey, I don't want to buy the game and have only 40 people playing it because only they're old enough to buy it and have a computer that would support it. And no i'm not a kid. :)

I think all games should enable gore in games, but for the younger minority there should be an option to disable it & then password protect it if necessary.

Just like there is for SOF

Kradath

Yes, but the point that you can disable gore, cannot lower the violation marking. ;)

would be funny to not have blood though
with crysis's big thing being realistic gameplay i think that having no blood or gore would take that element of realism in the game
aside from that r falling treese and falling shrapnel (from blown up helicopters) gonna cause player damage?

Well, I like a little blood as much as the next gamer, but i dont want it to turn into Quake or Doom, where there is blood splattered everywhere.

I played one game once, can't remember the name though, but anyways, whenever you shot someone blood kept filling the room until you drowned. It sucked actually.

Wow, I didn't know they made a game for Kill Bill!! ;)

Whether there is blood in Crysis or not, I don't care. I don't think it will have a very large effect on the amount of players.
I mean, anyone with a rig strong enough to run Crysis decently is obviously serious about gaming right? If they really want Crysis they'll just get their older brother/sister/friend/dog/whatever to buy it for them.
Furthermore, if the age limit is 12yo ... I highly doubt there are any kids under 12yo that have this powerful a PC.

Now if there was a FEAR kind of gore than that would be awesome. I hope they will implement SOME kind of effects, I can live with splatters on the wall here and there.

I would love to have gamer parents. If they were I would actually have a good comp.

For Single Player, I assume its a yes for blood. I dont think they can put blood in Multi Player versions of games, can they?

Kradath
07-03-2007, 09:06 PM
Atleast they should avoid happening something like for q4 where german gamers couldn't play with all the other versions.
