Hi,
I've been watching the site for a while and others asociated with it. Well I'm about to build a new system and I was wondering will it be able to play crysis and if so how well?
I'm hoping to run it on high at around 50FPS, the resolution of my moniter is 1680x1050.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz @ around 3.2GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 2 x 4MB L2 Cache.
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2 x 1GB PC8500 5-5-5-15 2.2V
MOBO: EVGA 680i A1
HD: 2 x Western Digital SE16 250GB 7,200RPM 16MB Cache RAID 1
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX BFG Tech OC2, 626/1450/2000 (Realy overclocked)
What do you think?
Also does crysis have support for X-Fi like bf2 and bf2142 do? Cause I have a Creative X-Fi Elite Pro

I wouldnt bother with all that, Ive been playing it all day on my Pentium II with onboard graphics at a billion frames per second (not overclocked yet).
Found it in a skip aswell.

You will want Vista because everything is DX10
Problm is that Creative sound cards don't work under Vista up till now

You don't say! It's going to have Vista Ultimate and X-Fi does work on Vista now.

As far as known, there are alot of problems with Creative + Windows Vista.
So bad that u even have to pay for ur drivers if u have an Audigy Creative.

Well the soundcard isn't the main issue it's - Will my system run crysis?
I'm guessing yes due to the fact that most of the other rigs I've seen aren't as good as this.
Also is it worth putting in a quadcore?

IMO quad core is over rated and you should stick with what you got. Also get a different power supply. You dont need more than 1000 watt for 2 8800gtxs 1200 watt is just complete overkill and you DO NOT need that much. And yes you should be able to play on ultra high.

I'm getting the QX6700 for insane clock speeds and I'll need that sort of powerful when I liquid cool it perhaps even add in TEC on the CPU.
The QX6700 will be running between 3.2GHz - 3.5GHz

Sell your machine on eBay. Buy one of those IBM big blue super computers.

Thanks, but I went for the QX6850 and I hope to reach even faster speeds, like I said, once I liquid cool and perhaps use TEC I'll be hoping to reach for 4GHz!

QuadCore is not necessary, but if u use 4GB 9not necessary either, then use 64-bit.
And sorry to say, but u could have bought a freaking car of the money u spend on a computer, not cool man, especially when u read the bit below.
When Dual Core arrived they also said: this game is going to be optimised for Dual Core, 2 years later and we are finally starting to see some good game swith good Dual Core support.
So don't let it trick you.
My system will do Ultra-High according to Crytek themselfs, so don't worry.
However, it is always like this: everyone is a money grabbing whore nowadays, and MS (DX10.1) and nVidia (9800) and Ati (3900) will always find new ways to make us choke money.
As soon as we buy their stuff DX10.2 or DX11 is there along with 10800 and 4900, so for ur financial's sake, don't let them drive u nuts, playing on medium won't be for evils (now that i think of it, the most fun Bf2 time was when i was playing all Low on a Low-End system)

Lol first thing on that website
Quote:
Crytek have not yet announced system requirements for Crysis. However, the kind folks at Crysis-Online.com have crafted their own set of system requirements based on confirmed information, interviews, and videos. These specs are not official and not confirmed and should strictly be used as a guideline. We should have the official specs soon, so until then this should do.

Vista is such a memory hog, i tweaked it to death and it was still using 500MB of RAM. I would prefer to have XP on DX9 and using 120MB of RAM than Vista on DX10 using 1 quarter of my RAM and full of bugs.
