Crysis Plot Changed?

On the 15 minute interview video GameSpot had, the Crytek guy did a brief synopsis of the plot but it seemed different from everything else I have heard.

He said that you are going in to rescue a team of archaeologists that dropped off the map. I thought you were going in to investigate the crashed spaceship.

He also says that apparently the team awakened the ship and aliens, which did not crash there, but infact was inside a mountain for billions of years.

Did they do this because if a ship that massive crashed into the Earth then there would be serious consequences, so they changed it so it was more believable?

Or am I just stupid?

The new one sounds much more realistic. A giant space ship crashing without notice is a little hard to believe.

I just thought of this, why did the NK army occupy the island then?

I'd like to see the Chinese instead of NK, it makes more sense. I mean, how does the NK get to some little island chain closer to china?
