I was curious because I'm not real psyched about Vista because it's a bit laggy. Is DX 10 gonna have this major improvement in OMG <3 this game compared to DX 9, I heard there was a DX 9 update coming with this game to get it somewhat DX 10ish feel (DX 9.0L, I think.) I know the lighting, physics, few other things are gonna be wild, but how much? Has anyone played a demanding game like F.E.A.R or Oblivion on Vista with much success?

I was thinking (after the 8900's come out) about getting a 8800 GTS super-clocked or 8800GTX with a new mobo (possibly SLI?), and dual core CPU (3800+ x2, would this bottle neck my card? I wouldn't think so though.) And another stick of ram, coming out to:

3800+ x2
Decent Mobo
3 gigs of ram
8800GTX or 8800GTS super-clocked
74gb Raptor
Audigy Sound Blaster (will DX 10 affect sound?)
a optical mouse...

I'm unsure as to whether your asking whether your system will run crysis (which nobody knows), or which hardware you should buy (GTS/GTX), or whether DirectX 10 makes much of a difference compared to DirectX 9. Which ever question it is, a simple bit of research on this site will tell you the answers.

There are no system requirements or minimum specs for crysis yet.
There are no hardware reviews on this site, only opinions. You'll have to look at reviews of each bit of hardware then decide on a Price/Performance/Quality scale for yourself.
There are Screenshot comparisons of DirectX 9 vs. DirectX 10 Crysis in the news archives.

Put some effort in plz :( Your filling up my RSS feeds with crap.

vista is essential for DX10 games like crysis, it has the power under the hood to deliver those GFX, you'll just have to wait and see ;)

If you like that "video game" look...stick with DX9 :shakehead:

If you like that "real" look...then obviously get DX10

Your CPU will definetly bottle-neck a GTX and probbly a GTS aswel.
As for DX10 theres a project called 'Falling leaf' thats working on getting DX10 script to work under XP. Personaly I'd just get Vista.
PS. DX10 looks alot better than DX9 when you use Crysis as a comparison.
