Yup, you have seen them in several pictures, and the carrier battle is 2/3rds the way through the story, so there has to be more after that.

I loved the new war of the worlds, actually makes me like this game better too because I always wanted a game on that movie. :) They do look just like them don't they, you think they got the idea from it? I'll have to do a thorough inspection on a dead one when the game comes out just to be sure. :) I can already sense some War of the Worlds POD's too. haha

In one of the videos I saw they have tenticles like in War of the Worlds to pick up humans too, but not to put you in a cage, to throw you lol.

HELL YES!

The steven spielburg version was teh rox. Except the tripods are taller than the walker. Also, the tripod could just pick up those little robot/alien things and kill them. The walker seems like it might be able to get to a simmilar height as the tripod, but since the tripod has three legs, and seems to move one leg after another, it may be easy for the walker to trip the tripod.

Also, in a contest between the cool noise each makes, the tripod would win, the walker sounds more like a dinosaur, the tripod sounds cool, with the thing where it goes "bwaaaaauuuuuuhh"

But the Crysis aliens look less stupid.

A match between the two would be hard to foretell the outcome but i would have to say tripods ftw and i wouldnt say the species from crysis is any smarter really, anything that can make that kind of machine and bury it for centuries watching, i wouldnt think is lacking any kind of knowledge. But one thing i have noticed about crysis is they say they havent shown the actual "alien" yet, so whats piloting those small hovering machines? quite small i would think.

they are similar in alot of ways too, their firing methods arent much different and the crysis alien is a tripod as well it looks like. the only thing its missing is a force shield. i hope it doesnt have one anyway:hmm: but that trumpet sort of noise the tripod makes i always thought was the thing blowing all the waste(blood) out the hatch to make room for the next round. or hes telling the others to come look what he found lol.

the only thing missing is the option to play as the alien itself.:D

The noise the tripod makes is used to call other tripods, like when there's a bunch of humans, the tripod goes "bwaaaaaauuuuuuuuhhhh" to call others, like in that ferry scene.

The Crysis and WOTW guys are very simmilar.
