As you can see from the specs in my sig, my computer isn't bad apart from the graphics card. So, during the next few months i will be buying a new graphics card. However, after reading a few reviews on ATI and Nvidia cards, i realised they have different means of applying anti aliasing. At the moment, Nvidia cards have the advantage as they use the current method of rendering AA, however, will Crysis run better with ATI means of AA or Nvidia's?

Thanks,

Alex

doesn't ATI have more AA? like in BF2 you can set it to 6Xaa? but I would get Nvidia since all the Crytek people are testing the game with the 8800 GPU's

Oh, i forgot to mention i'm talking about the 2xxx series cards from ATI and 8xxx cards from Nvidia.

Well the G80's from Nvidia go up to 16x AA but when you push it that far even an Ultra will struggle. As for ATI's 2xxx series are no where near as powerful as Nvidia's top cards. But I might be wrong but I belive ATI's 2xxx cards go up to 24x AA but if you want great graphics you will be lucky if you get decent FPS with 8x AA!
In my opinion get a 8800GTX that will give you the best performance for your money on Crysis.

I would go with nvidia, cause Crysis was built using the 8800 series. And in my opinion I think Nvidia cards are way better than ATI.

I'm with you on that Flubber, also the amount of problems just now with ATI's drivers goes to show why Nvidia is better. Also ATI's best card 2900XT is only as powerful as Nvidia's 8800GTS 640MB. The extra memory the 2900XT can offer dosen't make up for the serious driver issues and lack of performance.

From my experience on both ATI and nVidia, i got less problems from my nvidia than from the ati. Mostly driver wise. But on bf2 i got more ctd with nvidia but better performance.

Sadly the 2900 let most of us down. Its price was not worth the performance you got. I ditched it for an 8800 GTX and then an 8800 Ultra. I am not disappointed with either.
