OK I thought I should post this dew to the amount of requests for, 'Is my system able to cope with Crysis.' Well there's NO recomended system specs out yet.
Here's what I belive you will need to run Crysis on ultra high:
Quad core 2.6GHz +
4GB's of PC2-6400 the faster the better
8800GTX or Ultra 768MB/ 8800GTS 640MB SLI
680i motherboard
Medium perhaps med/high:
Dual core 2.6GHz +
2GB's of PC2-6400
8800GTS 640MB/ ATI 2900XT 512MB
Decent motherboard
Low:
Single core 3GHz+/ Dual core 2GHz +
1GB PC-3200
7800/8600 256MB
Standard motherboard.
If you want any detailed info on specs or recomendations etc send me a PM.

Dude, it's an educated guess. For example the system's they used at E3 to show off Crysis, they all used 4GB's RAM, 8800GTX, quad cores and even then they said it wasn't running on ultra high.

Nobody magically knows anything. I'm just glad that some one is at least attempting to estimate a spec than just coming on asking if their specific rig is "uber cool".
Good job. Although I think for anything close to High Resolution + High Quality Crysis will be accomplished by a 8900GTX/Ultra or another next-gen card that will come out probably in the Q3 of 07.
Speculation, but any crysis talk is good :D

Yeh, I think your right about needing an 8900GTX or 9xxx series card to run Crysis on ultra high with big resolutions. I just hope to god your wrong! I belive Crytek will release the specs/ release date very soon like they said in an interview I read.

If nvidia names their next series 9xxx i will be thouroughly pissed. 9800 pro is ATI and it was one of thee best cards ever made in its time. By the way your educated guess is quite interesting. dont think youll need 4gb of memory but hey w/e. We all have 64 bit operating systems riggggght.

The E3 machine WAS playing Ultra High. It wasn't playing max. There is a difference between them. An 8800GTS will play Ultra High with 2GB RAM and an E6600 on resolutions around 1600x1050. This has been confirmed.
8800GTX is needed for Max on 1920x1200.

Are you sure, because at E3 the machines were using 4GB's RAM and you don't need 64xBit Vista for 4GB's RAM 32xBit is fine it just dosen't always show up 4GB's, but if you do some reading you will find out it does support 4GB's.

Lol, nice estimate man, but in case u didn't notice not all of us have quad cores, they would be very foolish to make a game that only ran on tech thats currently out of most peoples price range.
With that said, making random estimates about a game that hasn't been released yet seems sort of pointless eh?

i think anyone with a dual core above 3ghz, 2gb of ddr2 and 8800GTX or Ultra will be just fine.

Right - think about this long and hard.
If they have a game that uses the specifications that you have listed about, thing about the percentage of the market that will be unable to play it. Audience lost is equal to money lost, which in turn makes EA very unhappy.
Battlefield 2 and 2142 were said to be ''very high spec games'' - but look at some of the systems you can play them on. Games have to be scaled up, and down significantly if the producer has any chance of making money off it. Especially now EA are publishing Crysis, they will want to make as much money off it as possible. In a way, I don't blame them, but they do have a reputation for making money than making a run for it.
I'm sure EA will make a good job of Crysis though, having learned from the problems with Battlefield.
The specifications of the game are never properly known until the day of release, when a million and one people install it and find out whether it works or not.

:laugh: you'd think they would of learned when they were designing 2142.

Designing 2142?
You mean renaming BF2 to BF2142? :P

yeah, they totally screwed up, heck if I knew Titan Mode was going to be the way it was, I wouldn't of even purchased the game. Hopefully Crytek will be smarter than DICE though :p

I think Crysis will be a very scalable game. I guess it will be at the pinnicle of DX9 gaming and the stepping stone for DX10 gaming. BF2142 was just a very large mod for BF2 which was very buggy. Crysis is built on a whole new advanced game engine which is so far, looking extraordinary.
