Hey, i need some help with installing battlefield 2. I put the disc in and a pop up comes up that asks me what language to use, i pick english then it goes to another box which has different buttons like install, nvidia drivers, EAsy info, etc. well when i click install the box goes away and then another box comes up that says "Installshield wizard startup" and then it just goes away and an error message comes up that says "Setup.exe has encountered a problem and must shut down. Were sorry for the inconvenience". I tried installing the game on my dads comp and it works, the only reason i dont play it on there is because he doesnt have a good enough video card. So i was wondering if someone could help me out with getting the game to work. Thank you.

System specs:
Windows XP with service pack 2
Pentium 4, 2.0 GHz
ATI Radeon 9550 w/ 256mb DDR
1GB of ram
Direct X 9.0C

i just tried it and it seemed to not help at all, i closed all of my background programs and everything as well but its not working, and i know my install shield works because i tried installing other games just incase and they worked fine, but for some odd reason BF2 doesnt want to install.

Any other suggestions, please help if you know

a clean boot worked for me the other day--go into msconfig, turn off all start up programs, and disable all services except MS services. it was THE ONLY thing (not coincidentally, the last thing I tried) that allowed me to reinstall BF2, as well as the expansion packs for oblivion.

Thanks for the suggestion, but like when i did that the installshield wizard actually came up for a little while longer but i still got that stupid error message about Setup.exe having encountered an error. Any other suggestions?

Make sure all your windows updates are done. I've heard rumors of Divx updates helping (although I can't see why personally). www.divx.com for that one. Your hardware looks good. Make sure the sound and video drivers are updated.
