The Battlefield 40k (http://www.battlefield40k.com/index.php) mod team is back today with a new update. Here's what they had to say about their BF2 mod version:

Sorry for the long silence in news for our mod. Hawk is working on a CGI intro movie for the mod. and has been doing some nice CGI still renders for the mod. Hayes is having problems creating working custom first person hands to go in game on our infantry models. Thats why on all the first person weapons you see at the moment have no hands showing. Wezil one of our new members gained entry to our dev team through his work on the Tau EMP grenade and the current work in progress Tau Drone turret. Mycatfield returns to work soon from his break, he has been able to update and resolve some of the issues that are resident in the marine model.

BF40K : BF2
Inaith is currently working on alpha 0.70 thanks to the help of SRM clan we now have a server version that works on linux. He is currently having problems in coding anti grav vehicles. When one tries to drive over a static (a bridge for instance) it can't move. We are still waiting on more models to be finished for this version. We are lacking wrecked models for many vehicles and we still have a lot more work in art terms to do to the infantry.

Nice one folks.impressed that you are developing the mod for both BF2 and BF2142.am grateful too as i do not possess the latter and possibly never will..keep up the good work!!:D

Not really a problem, its easy to have two versions developed with the artistic requirements being mostly the same. Divides the coding dept really.

We have been paying some attention to these sites

Good indicators for how many people are playing each version of BF.

Not all of our devs bought BF2142 some decided to skip it.

The bf2 version will probably be the first version to be released as we are further along with that in development than the 2142 version.

Imperial Guard FTW!!!

Can't beat their artillery and of course the mighty Baneblade tank :D

I hope those will be in the mod as well.

Man i have always had a soft spot for this mod. As i guy that actually used to work for GW as a younger bloke I will always have appreciation for such endeavours. go hard boys - i am sure there is a large untapped community waiting for this!!!!!
