The team over at Black Sand Studios (http://blacksandstudio.com/), a successful group where mods work together for a common goal, have announced they are expanding into the Crysis community. Take a look:

For this update isn't just going out to the Battlefield community. Black Sand Studios is proud to announce our expansion to the Crysis engine. That's right, headed by our BSS Crysis Studio Coordinator SoLLy aka Alex, we have formed a new sector for Crysis mods. And we already have 3 teams onboard, Dogtags Vietnam, Gameover, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. If any other mod teams out there has any questions about BSS, just contact SoLLy.

In other news, BSS will soon be celebrating its 1 year anniversary, BSS was organized last year at the Games Convention in Germany and has grown ever since. This year the Games Convention (GC) will be held at Leipzig (Germany) again and many of our developers plan to attend, we also plan to post pictures of the event afterwards.

The BSS website is currently getting an overhaul, of course it will not interrupt our forums as they already have been adjusted for both the Crysis and Battlefield series. We hope all will like the new setup once completed.

Great to see a solid group of modders already preparing for Crysis. Stay tuned for more mod news!

It looks the Crytek engine is going to get a long life out of the modding community.

It seems it'd be ripe for mission-based military simulation maps, a la Joint Ops.

I'm waiting for someone to come up with a Crysis-based A-Team mod :D

Yeah, we hope that BSS will the same success for Crysis like in Battlefield. The first mods are part of BSS and we guess it will be more in the future! ^^
