Point of Existence 2 Mod Update #91

The Point of Existence 2 (http://www.pointofexistence.com/) mod is back today with their latest update. Here's what they had to say about it all:

The PoE team would like to thank all those who entered maps into our contest. The quality of maps submitted just blew us away! In addition to the original 3 maps, we have decided to bump the total to 5 because of the high volume of quality maps we received. Also the 1st and 2nd place winners have earned a spot in PoE’s next release! There are many very talented mappers out there in the community and we sincerely hope that more people support and recognize them for their efforts.

After many hours of testing and discussing the maps within our team, we have our mapping contest winners! The map pack will be released Friday and we will then have a night where we will host all the maps on a server and let the community come play them with the dev team and map makers! Without further ado, here are your winners!

1st place Red Dawn by michi.be
2nd place Operation Acorn by feenicks
3rd place Berezne by =VSF=Dali
4th place Woodland by Running
5th place Stormfront by Racer

In addition to these maps, the PoE team has ported all of the BF2 maps and spiced up a couple of them a little and are including them all in one giant official PoE fan made map pack! We got a lot of feedback from fans asking for some ports of the BF2 maps and for the leagues as well and SgtWedge responded by porting them all!

So there will actually be 17 "new" maps plus size variances!

Not old, but I want the city maps. Sick of the flat wide open ones. Can't wait for this release!

My only problem/concern is not everyone will download it thus limiting the number of possible players to an even less amount than that still playing the MOD.

For maps to be played they need to come with a patch so everyone has them. I know the filessize would be massive but i really do think these new maps won't be played as much as if they came as patch content.

at least two of these maps will be included in an official release, and don't worry, if your waiting for urban maps, you won't be dissapointed ;)
