Sandbox v0.4 Release Soon

We've been sent some new news today from Sir. Elxx about his very popular Sandbox mod. Here's what he had to say:

With every single Pic of the Day on TotalBF2 still originating from Sandbox (at least according to the replies), it seems that the mod deserves another update. That's right, the next version of Sandbox is almost ready! There are several new things, so let's just cut straight to the chase with a handy list:

• All the BF2 vehicles are now spawnable!
• All the BF2 maps are included, in addition to Clearing
• Spawnable spawn points
• Updated spawn menu with tabs for spawn categories
• Undo function in Multiplayer
• Enhanced grabbing: fine-tuning object positions has never been easier
• Much improved snap-to-grid function
• "Reset Rotation" function to complement snap-to-grid
• Export to .con: Save your favorite house/ramp/racetrack as a custom map!

Something I've always wanted to see was the Apache Longbow, and HIND from SF in vanilla maps along with the cobra, will the mod include BF2 SF vehicles spawnable?

Not in this release, but I can modify it to spawn SF/EF/AF vehicles and release an add-on later on. Of course you will be required to own the expansion to be able to spawn those.

I do indeed own the expansion.. Just would of love to seen what the game would be like with the combination of the two choppers from SF, next to the ones in Vanilla.

You can create a spawn point anywhere, like at the top of a ramp or certain places in the giant buildings people have built.

If you want to use the dump truck now then you just have to download camobox.

But if Elxx will make an SF/AF/EF addon then is the sandbox gonna be in 2 versions because if the players who dont have the expansion might get crashed from a server when a other player spawns a apace for example?

And to those above... Sandbox servers will probably run BF2: sandbox only...
And the addon is maybe a little Minimod seperate from BF2: sandbox... or he is so good he can code it so you can join a server with those addons,( They will probably be SP only ) ;)

Also, I think if someone spawns a EF vehicle, I think it appears invisible.

Nope, anyone can spawn as many as they want. They can be destroyed aswell though.

They'll be formatted so you can just append them to the StaticObjects.con in the map, in any mod. :)
