Posted over today on the Black Sand Studios (http://blacksandstudio.com/) website is a new mod announcement for Crysis titled Gameover. Check it out:

Today we want to present our new Mod GAMEOVER for Crysis. GAMOEVER is a Singleplayer-Mod that will demand a great deal of stress, ambition and the will to stay alive. The team has intended the complete alteration of the weapon and vehicle section.

It will include 3 factions. Every faction has their own weapons, vehicles and equipment. We will attach real equipment to bring the player into the present.

The player will be part of an exciting story of betrayal, team spirit and a fight to the finish. We tell the story of a special unit, which will fight for the good, but all they will receive is the evil. The Player as a part of the German special unit KSK will be equipped with the armed reconnaissance vehicle Fennek.

We will release the mod in three episodes because we want to bring you the mod as fast and bug free as we can.

Ok Iīm gonna sound a little bit stupid but thatīs okey ;)

All this talk about mods got me wondering if mods isnīt really what I think it is...

I think mod is an addition to a game that you download online for free so you can get more diversity out of the game. All these mods Iīve heard of here sound like a whole new game that you will have to buy ?

Am I right or wrong... or both ?

mods are both, but free, a mini mod only adds and changes abit of the gameplay, total conversion mods are pretty much all new content, gameplay, and usually follow a good detailed story line, but as said all mods are free :D

2142 was a mod... we had to pay for that... Roflpwnt.
