i was trying to think of a reason why, or at least a funny reason, but i could think of neither, you're right, there is absolutely no reason for it, in this case.

i told them that they should do that so ppl without super comps can see wut it looks like on lower gfx. Also bc when u play bf2142 with the gemotry on high its harder to see through the trees and bushes. So in crysis if its the same way.
