This is for people who have played the beta version of crysis,
I play Bioshock in DX10 on Vista on the highest settings @ 1152x864 screen resolution, and get a steady FPS, probably about 30fps i would assume.
And Lost Planet in DX10 at same screen resolution on High settings and get about the same fps,
My query is how would CRYSIS run on my system at the same screen res, and on high setting, im not to fussed about the explosions being mega looking just textures and lighting set on high.
Or am i due for a upgrade on my CPU, Ram, Video card?
my specs are below.

Im running it on 2x 7900GTX 512mb cards, when in split-frame rendering mode I get an FPS of around 25~35 with most of the settings being on high. Im not sure about your system but it should be more than adequate to support the game. The single player demo is out soon, be sure to give t a try :P.

Well i heard that the BETA is only 20% optimized and i average 45fps all on high and it plays smooth as hell fpr the fps i am getting.

I advise you to try the SP DEMO once released as im am sure most of the optimization process would have been completed by then.

haha, so you think "optimizing" will change things THAT much ?
You guys dont know much about programming.....

i would say but i dont want to BREAK THE NDA... also there is a thread that links you to the minimum requirements

What i mean to say, is that people expect big changes when new vid card drivers come out, or a game gets optimized ...these changes help, but if you have a low end computer, obviously, you wont get much better gameplay.
The cryengine 2 game engine needs a lot of horse power to run it, period.
Usually optimized vid card drivers increase game performance by 10 % , game opimization by the programmers dont usually give much more than a 20 % better framerate. It varies somewhat between games, but these are "rules of thumb".
I'm just saying not to expect a miracle with Crysis , sure gameplay will improve somewhat with opimization, but not a HUGE amount.
I hope that makes sense...

maybe it will be like the lost planet demo, where 1 version is DX10 only, and the other version is dx9 only

We'll see it doesn't really matter to me. AS long as both are available. And also the lostplanet dx10 was a waste.
