When too many people try to get there, the hoster suspends the service temporarily. basic DDOS defence really. The package the Devs can afford is just enough to cope with normal usage, but at times like releases, the site will go down!

Luckily the staff on the mod post the links you guys need far and wide :)

Well when you get 661 actual registered users let alone guests there is going to be issues.

it's annoying heh. we were going to have a new server host in time for this release, but just had too much stuff on the go to get it doen in time.

Its a vicious and annoying circle - people get excited and hit the site, so site goes down... people think its out so more people hit the site so it goes down more often... and so on.
