There is a new media update posted today over at the US Intervention (http://usi.jarhedz.com/) mod website. Here's what they had to say:

The USI team is back again with some news. This time we want to show you a few of the reskins that Zefan from BF:Korea, which is also part of Black Sand Studios, made for us. Not that the original skins were bad, but he added that "je ne sais quoi" to them. Take a look at the screenshots and you'll see what I mean. In order of appearance we have; Iraqi Aks-74u, US Car-15, Iraqi RPG7, Iraqi Skorpion, Iraqi AKM Bayonet and the US M9 Bayonet.

And now comes what we promised you last week. Like bubu guessed it is a video indeed. This video was made by our co-leader Guedoe. Eventhough he doesn't have the skills MarkHawk has, none of us have for that matter, the team thinks he did a great job and his hard work should be shown to the public! So enjoy this vid!

Yeah I hope the trailer is pretty special with a 427 something mb download. J/K I like how someone finally got around to getting some good skins on the AK and CAR though.

Can't wait for next release. Could you not have made a movie based on a new map though? I'm sorry but for the big download, that movie felt like a recording session on a pub server. But seriously I do love the mod :)

i hope thats not actually the colt logo. it's a best practice to change the logo and name slightly to avoid any copyright complications. For example, the Desert Combat (bf1942) Remington shotgun displayed "Pemington" on the side.

additionally, the animation for the vz61 should be changed so the soldier holds the magazine (perhaps a tweak to the scar-L fore-end grip animation)

here is how the vz-61 should be held:

EDIT: Are those clouds moving?

EDIT2: love the smoke effects on the MLRS - other mods take note.

Looks good.

Is this mod going to be arcade like vBF2 and POE2 or a little more sim like Project Reality and FH2?

At least the weapons loadouts are as realistic as the gameplay allows it.
Not as hard as in PR, but also not as arcade as other mods.

Like wolfi said it will be a little of both........it plays a bit arcade style in the sense that it is a fast action shoot em up,but now there are other aspects to the gameplay in wich it would be beneficial to give a team effort.....and things can go very right ,or they can go very wrong for your team, depending on how good the individual players are. When I played the latest build I felt like I had as much fun as I did back in the 1942 MOD daysplaying EOD and DC .That is something we have always felt BF2 was lacking. When BF2 came out I was hoping for a better looking version of DC with a bit extra thrown in,and it really missed the mark.It has taken a long time, but iI feel we have finally gotten a little bit of that back.

So major gameplay changes? USI was the most arcady mod out that I had played and that was one of the things I enjoyed the most about it. That and the sounds! Was one of my favorite mods but I do not understand why more people did not play it. Guess you should have named it Desert Conquest so you could be called DC and trick people into playing the mod. No worries as your work stands on its own. Its such a shame more people do not play mods. Only POE and PRMM to choose from that are populated. Hopefully your next release will change that!

Good lord, you've been part of this community since Sept and I imagine you've played BF2 since it was released, yet you still haven't figured out why people don't play mods? Amazing. No matter what is the name of the MOD, if it lacks the "it" factor then it will not be very popular (The "it" factor being, Coding, Content, support etc.) end of story.

Also, If I were part of the Dev team, I wouldn't take part in "lets take a cheap shot" with pubbers and not answer questions, because that would be classless (person and team). Just my opinion.

I think the reason mods do not get played is ranks and unlocks. POE, PRMM, and USI had loads of content! Like I said, I really hope the next USI release gets more people playing mods.

Yeah I hope so, too. Sure its because of the ranking, but the last USI build is old now.
When I play it, it feels so odd and old lol :D
