hey PR developers and PR fans (like me :D)
i just imagined a new concept in Reality
since the map "Helmad Provice" was shown to the world, i had an idea
imagine: Karkand with buildings that can be blow to HELL
did u guys over at PR ever think of making every building the ability to be blown to a wreck of concrete
i would like that ;)
i want napalm, but they wont put it in

Maybe.
this map [Helmand] is more or less a Proof of Concept on the idea of distructible envoirmants. As you guys can see, its the smallest size of map we can make (by defualt with the editor, i could probaly make a smaller if i haxed alot of code ).
these buildings are split into diffrent sections, so you can only blow up aprts of the buildings and not the entier building when you shoot 1 wall with a rocket, this making it really being so like the min amount of parts you can make a house with is 4 corners.
now saying that, the normal building only requires 3 lgithamps, 1 for each LOD. Now these sections require 6 each, as you have the 3 normal LODs, then you have the 3 distructible lods aswell.
now if you times 6 lightmaps by 4 corners, each house routhly has 24 lightmaps, where the normal stock BF2 house only has 3. thats a big diffren to perfomance so we will have to see how much we can push these statics into bigger areas, but my guess is that you will not see a city like this any time soon, with the BF2 engine anyways hehe.
