I keep trying to figure out the logic of the dropships and how they'll work. I think the most obvious answer would be that they spawn just like choppers in BF2 and can take off & land.

I'm hoping there's more to it though ... like some sort of Carrier Ship that hovers over the terrain and provides a main spawn point that you can't get to. Sort of like the carrier in BF2.

From there, you can get into dropships and fly down onto the flags you would like to cap. It would add some dynamics too, since people will scatter around. It could end up being too easy for the attacker though.

Sounds kinda cool but I think it would turn into a chopper (dropship) whoring race.

I'd like to see the dropships be used soley as transport aircraft and have no weapons or offensive capability's

the blackhawk was definitly manipulated in BF2 , before the patches came out

Maybe it will be faster than the big mother goose chopper in wake 2007. Maybe since its a carrier it will have an option to dissapear then land out of nowhere giving it more of an insentive to be used.

that would be a very good idea, considering there are no weapons it would make sense for it to be able to be a proper strike vehicle, obviously it would still have a heat signature for AA/those special lock on weapons

Don't hold yer breath on "motherships". Large vehicle code is a perty big chunk of engine. I doubt they've had time to add it between BF2 and BF2142's release.

My guess is that the drop ships are gonna be areo-buses. I don't even see any obvious form of weapon on that sucker.

According to PCGamerUK, the "dropship" is like a jet. It flies very fast, and can hover like a chopper. It has no offensive weaponry.

There are no "jets" in BF2142, to reduce the strain of jetwhores.
