would be nice, but don't count on it, you can bet on it they'l release it just before quakewars, and i allso think that quake wars will be ready, and ea just wants to join in on that succes, or take parts of it away by releasing 2142 just before quakewars.

Yes, they didn't confirm very much at BFCon06, but they did say they'd release a Multiplayer Demo, and the full game would be released in the Autumn (Fall).

Did they carry over from bf2 demo to bf2? I know I made a new account when the demo came out and it was shown when I enlisted in my profile but I did not pay attention to my stats so I dont know if they carrier over or not.

Well if they give the kind of support they are giving to bf2 it will be fixed prompltly.

Trust me, it will slip, and be released in 2007. It is almost an unwritten law that all games in development will suffer at least one delay.

The expansions are fine, but what really makes them pointmess is the inability to run a server and keep it filled if you are running more than just the vanilla maps.

For instance, it would be great to run a Warlord/Karkand server. Players love each map for roughly the same reason, but it would at least switch up the maps a bit instead of having either one 24/7. But switching between BF2 and SF is buggy and most people don't have SF so you will lose most of your server population every time you switch to Warlord and then have to repopulate when Karkand comes back up.

The only way to make those servers possible is by giving away the maps, which unfortunately EA is not willing to do.

Well "Fall" is an industry word for November, usually the end of. If they say fall it's almost always November. If it gets delayed at all, I think the next window will be February but most deffinitely after christmas. This is usually the cycle of games. Note that it also is the quaterly tax cycle for US businesses.

I think it might not be delayed though and may actually come out in late November. I mean, the game is using pretty much an updated BF2 engine, adding models (which they seem to have done already) and adding physics for those models can't be much work. I mean they do it every month or two when they tweak the guns in BF2.

And oh yeah, the European release is always a month later, cheers Brits:) .

It's not a new enginre (unless they've only just today said it was) it's the BF2
engine with tweaks. So, yes, they can release it in less than a year.

Exactly! Thats what I've been trying to say all along loll you said it better though. Its not like they are starting from scratch, they are just makeing the bf2 engine run smoother and a little bit better graphics(Like from 1942 to bfv). So I whole heartedly belive that if they work hard and dont slack off it can be realsed in november with not to many issues.
