To jet or not to jet?

Well here is the big argument - should jets be included in BF2142
We all know that while they were fun to fly and even more fun to rack up points with - they were horribly unbalanced (especially the bombers which could spam death almost with impunity and still can, and to a lesser extent the fighters which required a smaller niche of good pilots to dominate a less armour intense map (Wake anyone?).

So what are the options?
Well if Dice had included a Stinger class ingame, there would have been no problems at all with balance (assuming that they had been coded to actually hit!! :D ) and assuming that Bf2142 will not include them either than the following options arise

No air vehicles - lol

Helicopter/jet hybrid - a subsonic aircraft with STOL/VTOL and multiple directional vectoring

Futuristic Helicopter only - Take the Mi28's weapons on a 2142 platform with broadly similar handling to BF2 choppers

Jets - Bf2 is fine as it is, we want jets!

Maybe they can do soo if the bomber meat a fighter in the air the it have almost no chance of survivali mean that the fighter easy can take it out whit something

If from 1.0 BF2 had an AA class there would have been no complaints about Air combat to the extent that we saw

I've heard the the AV (anti-vehicle) class has 2 kits.
1 is for Anti-tank use.
2 is for Anti-air use.
So stick both jets and choppers in.

that would be nice maybe after played a while you can unlock a stinger launcher or something :)

If they put jets in they should make the stingers have a longer range on picking up the jets. Its not fair that a jet can see some one in a stinger a mile away but the stinger cant lock on unless the jets right infront of it.

Word my brotha. But, if it's infantry with the Stinger capabilities... won't matter as much, cause a plane is a lot less likely to see the soldier before the soldier sees him. I dunno, if theres a way to make it imbalanced, I'm sure they'll find it.

I meant when the soldier is in the stinger. When he his the jets bomb target indicatior lightes up before the guy in the stinger can even see the jet.

I was not refering to that. I was saying if they have jets they should make it so when the jets bombing indicator sees the enemy in a stinger, the stinger should be able to lock on so its fair.

Agreed with Reaper concerning stationary stingers, yet since the support class will have portable stingers (like in Joint Ops), stationary stingers would become unnecessary.

No. I wish I knew where to get tickets at. I went to E3.com and only saw stuff about vendors. Where do you go to get tickets.

Thats all my harware. The Case comes with a power supply. Im getting a moniter as well. All this plus other stuff(Like OS, Speakers, ETC) will cost me around 1500 with shiping.

Jet or not, I don't really care so much as long as it doesn't fly like a can of smashed assholes. There's a lot of interesting possiblities for the aircraft, from the possible futuristic take on a winged aircraft to something unorthedox like...I dunno something like the alien fighter ships from Independence Day.
