I have been playing vBF2 since release, and have never bothered to download any mods. Ive been thinking about getting PR, but never actually got past my lazingess to try and find the download link lol. I have heard talk about Dcon here and there, but never really looked into it. Today I looked at screenshots and saw that it had my favorite 1942 maps! So I downloaded it, and here I am.
Anyways, since Im new to the whole mod thing, do I need to do anything different than regular BF2 to play? How do I find servers, can I use my unlocks or is it all custom based on the mod, stuff like that.

there will be a shortcut created when you install dcon. use the shortcut and it will open bf2 and will activate the dcon mod.
just keep the "same mod" filter checked and all the servers you see are DCon

lol, I figured that out after about an hour of only being able to play 2 servers. They were in Denmark and I was lagging like CRAZY. Wierd that any came up at all when I checked "Ranked" though. I still get a lot of lag in the normal servers though, don't know why. I havent been able to fly planes or choppers because the lag is so bad.

If you were playing El Alamein or Desert Shield, some of us get mad crazy lag on those, while others don't. We have a good idea or 2 of what the cause is, and should have a fix out in a week or 2.

No he's saying maybe you were lagging because you were playing on one of those maps.
