=FEAR= Fun with AH-1

Today i finished our fun video "=FEAR= Fun with AH-1".

Why have we done this video:
At first i should tell you that everything you seen in the main movie shows actual gameplay from me (=FEAR= sid6.5 (http://bf2s.com/player/44284436/)) and my brother (=FEAR= Wilson-Wilson (http://bf2s.com/player/44284836/)) on various ranked Battelfield 2 servers.
There is one scene, where i did a roll with the AH-1 and nearly crashed into the water. After the this match we looked if BAttlerecorded was turned on to check that out. We both loved it, and so i created a short video of this manouver. After that we decided to extened that short scene and we were looking for ranked servers which had the Battlerecorded active. And vers shortly the video started to grow and grow :)

Production:
The "must have tools" for me were:

Battle Director from the Sir Community! (http://sircommunity.com/bd/docs/)
FRAPS (http://www.fraps.com)
DivX 6.5 (http://www.divx.com)


When you use Battlerecorder files from ranked servers, then you might run into one slight issue (like we did).
Most servers are using Quality Settings between 5-7. Which means that you will see slight stutter in the movement of the Vehicles and Players :(

I guess some of you might wonder why i choose stage6 as host with their divX format instead of youtube.
youtube is quite "funny", but i realy do not like the imagequality the videos have/get there.

At stage6 i can upload my created avi (divX) and this version will be streamed and be available for dowload. No changes which decrease the quality somehow :D

the intro is fully CG. which means that i imported the ingame AH1-Z model and USMC-Player models from Battlefield into Newtek: Lightwave 9.0.
After that i had to recreate the texture, tweaked the geometry and made it animateable.

The video itselfe then was edited with Adobe Premiere 2. :)

You have a good eye ;)

we needed a "end scene" which we were not able to get online on a ranked server.
So we used the singleplayer mod BF2-SP64.
The end-scene starts at the moment where we fly over the Boat heading to the carrier.

I was driving the boat with 4 bots in it and my brother was flying the AH1 with a bot as gunner.

After that cut you see me (pilot) and my brother (gunner) again in the AH-1 at the carrier and then flying away.

The end sequence we had before was ....... insufficient ;)

Just got done watching. If this was your first endeavor in to the world of BattleRecorder, great job.

Editing was top notch, very original intro. Quality was superb, the DivX codec is great, but have you tried h264? Great choice of music, and despite your 'comeptition', very good content(especially the outro). Looking forward to see more from you.

yes, but i never managed to get the same quality with the same filesize.
with h.264 i always end up with a file which is 50% larger than the divx. :confused:

We allready started with the production of our 2nd video.

This time i decided to go straight for HD. which means, the next video is 720p (1280x720 25p)
