Official High Resolution Wallpaper thread.

I did a search and could not find any threads with High-Res screens and wallpapers, so here we go....

I hope this could be the official "high resolution wallpaper" thread and be the alternative to the Official Screenshot thread here. (http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25352)
There is a big difference between a high-res wallpaper and ordinary Battlefield screenshots and i hope you guys post your images based on this set of rules;

1. The image must be larger than 1024X768.
2. The image should be artistic, and the beauty of the game should be in focus.
3. Photo shopped images are allowed; feel free to fix what EA didn’t.
4. All mods are welcome; show your mod as you want others to view it.
5. No screens of scores, hacks, kill streaks or promotions..

PS: You are allowed to give feedback, comment or ask questions too… If you like what you see, the creator may appreciate your feedback!
You don’t have to post your screen to participate in this thread…

I can imagine lots of you guys having good quality screens, just waiting to be published on this great board....

How do you take those screenshots so "clean" without hud and stuff? do you capture them with standard BF2 capture button or a third party program? and do capture them from the demo?

Many of my screens are slighty edited, but many i just crop down and give them the same colour as i see them on my monitor....

See of your signature that you have a ATI X1900XT graphic card...
I'm not sure how you can do this on ATI cards, but if you are using a Geeforce graphic card you could very easy adjust contrast and color on your screen...

And then you can get the same look as most of my screens!!!

In your tray, click the Nvidia icon, and choose your monitor, then find "colour correction" and save your new profile as Battlefield 2.

Ok.. i have added some blur to the bacground to fool your eys to think there are more depth in the image than the original image...

Some colour adjustments and some other changes voila there you go... much more life...

Regarding those thumbnails; it seems like there are a built in function in this forum that automatically reduce the size of the image to 640x512 and that's fine with me...

Wtf my backgrounds look like **** now they are all blury and no AA. Im picking the 1920x1200 and its still looks horrid. And my rez is set at 1920x1200. How can I fix it? It used to be crystal clear

could be you're stretching a smaller image to fit that rez?? That will effect the quality severely...just a thought ;)

Well, for the effect I dont know the exact sorta name as I use Russian Photoshop, but i use glass, spiral, heal, the finger smudge thinggy, and the ripple.

as for the bad effect, as I said I only spend like max 20 mins on each, and you can spot my mistakes,

like the ah-1z not having the small thingy behind the red bulb on top,

the f-35, back ground was not erm.. cleared/ healed good after the hud was taken,

the pic with su, the engines, and the mountains ( had the damn white oman fog), so cut the mountains,

the mig has this small thing poking out from the nose to the right of the pilot, around which I forgot to blur, and the sky is changed poorly because same as previous, the omnipresent white fog was there...

Yes I do. They were originally at 1280x1024, for the sake of bandwidth they were resized, but I have quite a few more from just Dalian that I'm gonna finish up and zip them to host on filefront.

Just I dunno if anyone would be interested, but if someone gives VERY HIGH quality pics, unedited, some of us could sort of compete here and post our creations/modifications here.

If done correctly it can show us, the editors/service providers, the exact feedback we need - because from the responses we can figure out what edits appeases or confronts the general publics interest.

I hope I have made my post understandable - make a sort of a competition, and with the feedback received calculate what exactly people want to see as their WALLPAPERS.


For example, if some one posts a high quality .png, reply with what sort of image/effect YOU are going to try to change it to and see if it gets appreciated.

Don't know about others, but with this I hope to get myself some more motivation and activity to the thread, so not only just us PS users post here.

What i do like is to see the end result, and give comments about that...

If i see some errors i may point that out, or just honour a job well done....

Same here. I really want to be taking super high res screen shots. I have got it half way there by, cranking up the Video settings and turning AA up to its highest. BUt that still doesnt get the really high res ones people have been posting here.

I want to post my one and only Bf2 desktop ever... 1600X1200... but when i sent it to this page for adding into the wallpapers page, it was rejected...
i'm thinking of doing some kind of remix, and a 1280X720 version, wait and see... :)
This is the horrifid experiment,resultant of the remix...
it has those "battle symbols" graphics... are for icon placement.
It was made using real world armies images, military and airforce style photoshop brushes and cuban missile crisis recon images.

Many of my screens are slighty edited, but many i just crop down and give them the same colour as i see them on my monitor....

See of your signature that you have a ATI X1900XT graphic card...
I'm not sure how you can do this on ATI cards, but if you are using a Geeforce graphic card you could very easy adjust contrast and color on your screen...

And then you can get the same look as most of my screens!!!

In your tray, click the Nvidia icon, and choose your monitor, then find "colour correction" and save your new profile as Battlefield 2.

Sorry to quote such an old post, but you can do contrast changes on ATi cards too.
There is a program called Omega drivers, which substitutes the ATi drivers, and every thing can be done to it.
