Thanks,
Not many things get me this wound up but I feel that this thread:

http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110023

Is a disgrace to the site.
Or rather, allowing such a clan to advertise here is.

Thank you for looking.

Its not just the sad imagery Scinto, look at post 8, made by the OP.
Clearly stating that they DO NOT want UK (ie British) players.
Can this not be deleted?
I find it VERY offensive.

Is anyone in charge here going to do something about this please?

I agree with Lamri. This site is meant to be free of racism, sexism etc...

This does kinda entice hatred...

What's wrong with them not wanting British people in their clan? That's their own decision, what should you care unless you want to join it?

I'm sorry mate but I don't really think you know too much about the IRA, which this so-called clan has modeled itself on, and their "activities" including torture, maiming, prostitution and drug supply to name but a few.

its upto a clan of what origin/country they want players from, would you find it offensive if say you lived in US and a clan only wanted players from say Florida State would you still find that offensive?

edit; i did remove my last line of text on their initials but if you inisist on bringing it up..

Im past all the crap those initials bring up its in the past and people are getting over it, things are moving forward and those who choose to keep mentioning it should grow up a little its a past that shouldnt be brought up water under the bridge and all that.

I find the fact that the clan is modeled on the IRA offensive!!
Have you seen the website?

It's a clan. More specifically a GAMING clan. It's hardly offensive. I'm sure there are nazi clans out there for games like dod, or cod, or any WW2 game. It's their right to choose.

Look at it, laugh at it, and go on your way.

Well, your 18...so you were real young when the IRA were blowing up coffee shops in England. There are plenty of people still alive that had to live with their violence. Think a little deeper that just, "laugh at them"...that feud goes much deeper then just school yard name calling. I love the idea of rights, and as I type this, I am looking at my copy of the US Constitution. But by your statement, you are essentially saying you endorse a Nazi clan. Remember that simple quote we hear now and then, "evil only wins when good men do nothing". Your bench warmer statements are not helping here.

Yeah, it's a pretty sore subject, and everyone doesnt seem to like it, plus they keep bumping like the girls in an 50 Cent video.

omg fine guys, your right, i guess i will go around preaching at everyone i see now who says (n) igga. Which is 99% of my generation. Me excluded.

And come on guys, its a friggin gaming clan. Now if it were a real "Clan" then it's a different story.

I know this is a serious topic, but i have to lol that last comment!
================================================== ==========

But anyway, seeing as its acceptable, i have decided to start up a clan. It will be called "The 9/11 radicals". Basically we are hiring anyone who hates America, mostly Muslims, and we are going to recreate terrorist activites in Battlefield 2. Don't worry, we are a gaming clan, so everything here is legit. Rules are your free to do whatever you want on the Battlefield, you must have commited at least 50 jihads or road side bombs before joining and you must not be from the Western world.

Right, who wants to join?

So....
Is something going to be done about it then?
In my opinion this portays hateful imagery ("The IRA will set us free") which is NOT allowed under the TotalBF2 posting rules.
No disrespect to you Scinto mate, but I would like someone higher up to take a look at this if possible please because nothing has happened, even though I have reported it through the correct channels.
Thank You.

As a person who has lost a family member to the terrorism the IRA carried out I find this sad as well - they should, in my opinion, have their thread removed - I spent 12 months on the streets of Belfast and as a soldier they are terrorists who wouldn't even stop at maiming children - much like arab terrorists nowdays.

Please have something done as this sickens me and like others have said - it goes against this sites rules!

Or can arab terrorists openly recruit here for their clans (If they play....)

Oh thanks for clearing that up for me - so you are saying i can create a clan and say "NO AMERICANS, PAKIS, BLACK PEOPLE OR PEOPLE FROM SKEGNESS"

You are a tw@

Discrimination is Discrimination.

I can see why it would be nessesary to have an age restriction - our clan has a no under 18 policy but thats because we use offensive language and i wouldnt want mk kids to hear it.

Well it seems fairly obvious that regardless of the content of the post, there are multiple established members of this community who are offended and have offered substantial arguments.

As far as the quote; I have only 38 under my belt but can I join as a intern member?
Only joking. Somewhere on this forum there is a link to an NBC internet news special on how BF2 is a terrorist recruitment tool. I suggest everyone try to hunt it down and watch it. It is incredible how onesided and blind it is. It will give you at least a hearty chuckle.

The clan recruits based on race.
This site has a rather simple policy on racism.

Where is the grey area the staff have found.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=IRA&hl=en&safe=off&start=0&sa=N

sure most of the results are about the (P)IRA but look at the others heres some examples;

Internet Retirement Alliance = http://www.ira.com/
Individual Retirement Account - IRA = http://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/ira.asp
IRA Motor Group = http://www.iracars.com/

they are all real companys perhaps you should go and tell those companys to remove their site names because of what the 3 initials represent.

try as you wish ive already had a reply from [MyIS]Crrrazzzy in the Staff area.

I think that you lamri are looking to much into it, its just a name that could be perceived (new word?) as something bad when its not directly linked.

Indeed it is just a name. If you don't like it, don't look at the thread...it's not making you stare at it and get angry. There's no need to really discuss this anymore...if you are offended by it, either don't view it or if you want to go to drastic measures, leave I guess. I've also removed the post with the poll in it...it's our decision what happens you guys, you can't vote kick someone out of the forums.
