I'm having a weird problem..

When I start the game and join a server, after like 10 seconds ingame my entire comp just locks up and and I have to restart..no idea why. I can play BF2 fine too...any help!? I redownloaded and installed twice..

1) Do you have the latest patch 1.4 for vBF2?

2) If you do you should just try redownloading EoD

That might help but someone else might be able to help too.

might try turning down your settings, mods tend to take up more resources then regular BF2

Well I put the settings to medium. I was able to play a whole round. Then it did it again once the round ended...sigh

I Get the same prob,Im running a gig of ram duel core 2.1 4600 processer
and 7300Le PCI Express viedo card.
I have all the updates and all updated drivers.
BF2 runs fine and the mods locks up and i have to cold boot the box.
I lowered settings as well.
Some expierenced help would be great.

lot of people are having probs like this from what i have read on the other forums.

one fix would be to start bf2 normaly and then change the game to eod through the community bar. in other words do not use the short cut that came with the mod. especialy if you had or have v1.0 installed

Hey I had the same problem and i was really frustrating, I would lock up after only a few minutes of gaming. here's the solution i found:
delete the odd-named folder in
My documents/battlefield2/mods/bf2/cache

Next time you play BF2 (specifically EOD2) you will re-optimize shaders. I did this and played without problems.
