View Full Version : My Feedback on DCON
This is the first desert conflict i have played.
Its way too easy to be shot down while flying a helo, the helo's dont have any flares to stay alive. It feels like this mod was made by people who hate attack choppers.
The helo's need some flares and you need to limit how many people on each side can have Anti-Air, make them choose between anti air or anti ground.
The vehicles go fast enough in this mod to where attack choppers could have the normal BF2 tv guided missiles without them being overpowered.
The artillery is a pain to use, it needs to be easier to use to be useful.

Few small issues here.
1. There wont be much use for flares without heat seeking rockets right? Dumbfire doesnt care much for flares. The helo is too easy too shoot down if your used to BF2, but DC is another matter. The helos were always in danger, and that made them fly better against ground targets.
2. The Arty is great, and much harder top use than the Commander mode in BF2, thank god. It takes getting used to, but people are wrecking shop with it.

You wont get shot down if you fly smart, I for one don't have a problem killing the infantry men before they do me.....

If a chopper flies low over a battle zone, and isnt moving around, and there are a few stinger equiped soldiers nearby..........not good.
I had }RR{Wolfi hunting me in the hind last night, and I couldnt hit him for crap. It was so frustrating, even though he was flying really low. The Stinger / Grail explosion radius needs to be reduced, but the system works just like DC imo.
Like someone already said, adding flares would do nothing to stop you getting hit with the dumbfire rockets, I for one really enjoy how 'easy' it is to shoot helicopters out of the sky in DCON. It's a very nice change from vanilla BF2, and it gives people in the air something to fear apart from other air units. I do agree that maybe the AA kits need limited, if only to stop practically everyone picking the Anti-Tank kit, maybe give the AA to Engineer, and rename the class or something similar.

yea, the helos need to learn not to fly close to the ground. Stay up high, move around a lot, etc.....
Fly straight and low, you'll get a tank shell up the ***.

I like the idea about giving the AA to the engineer.
