Point system? Suggestion.

Yeah, we've got a request-section here in the forums, right? For avatars, signatures, cut-outs etc., so why wouldn't the moderators invent the point system?

I.E. you could get points for adding a thread & posting to one. You could also donate/receive points to/from other members in this site.

And, if you request someone to do something - you could pay by these points, so the i.e. avatar's maker would get something for his/her efforts.


Also, we could have comment-levels here, i.e. from 1-5, or so. The higher level you are, the more points you get per post. This could make the members post in proper English & use good grammar etc., moderators would be able to demote/promote your comment-level.


Of course, this may lead to "point-whoring", i.e. adding pointless threads etc. The moderators should just be strict.



This point system is in use at least in here: FPSBanana (http://www.fpsbanana.com), and there it works just fine, I'm a member/forum-user there too.

I personally think it would be a good thing to have this point system here, also. Of course, actually it's "an useless thing", like the post-counting system, these two things just grow your e-penis.



But it's cool. Any comments?

The FPSB has been on for 5-7 years now, and they implemented the point system about a year ago, so...

Well, we know how funny some people get about points in game, so imagine what it'd be like on the forum. All the "Kliqs/Communities" would vote each other up and people who were annoying to them down, regardless of whether it was a good find.

Yes, it's completely and utterly useless. Unlike the post count, though, it adds more work for the admins.

A forum is for reading other peoples' posts and posting your own. In my eyes, point systems are a misguided attempt to gain traffic, usually done by newbie forum owners.
