The BattleGroup-Frontlines (http://www.bgfmod.com/) mod team is back today with some new media to showcase. Here's what they had to say:

Hello and welcome to another Battlegroup-Frontlines news. Today we have the Russian I-16 fighter aircraft and two of our Soviet soldiers ingame. The I-16 was modeled by Bonehead and skinned by Tomcraft and the Soviets were made by FiHell, Seth_Soldier and Koricus.

The I-16 was developed in 1932 by the Polikarpov designers and after 1934 it began to be built in increasing numbers and was continued to be produced until 1941. The I-16 was very rear balanced (more than 30%) which made it very unstable in flight and hard to train pilots on, although it made the I-16 very manoeuvrable. It became the world’s first mass produced fighter with over 10,000 being produced (including a 2 seat trainer). The ease of its production and its good performance allowed it to remain in service for almost 10 years (and numerous wars from the Spanish Civil war to China and then in Finland and on the Eastern Front). It remained in frontline service on the Eastern Front until 1942 when it was replaced by more modern fighters although some units retained them until the end of the war. Read more... I love you guys(yes in a homo way). Haha jk. Those models look so good, it's the first time I've seen custom player models NOT reflect light like they're made of plastic - which is good. Plus I'm just happy for the Soviet addition :D
