I thought with the stats down i'd try a mod, big download, my question is, are there any patches or updates i should look 4 for this mod? or is this pretty much the current verision everboyds playin.

hopin when its installed it will show up in my multiplayer list? guess i'll find out.:salute:

NBK server runs DCON on ranked and I have seen some people rank up on it before, odd I know, but cool.

it only shows it being ranked and shows players ranks..but it will NOT report stats!!!

No MOD will be able to report stats unless EA gives the OK..which has never and will prob never be.

Hmm, i see 8 servers that say they are ranked running the DCon mod, so none of those are truly ranked?:confused:

NO they are not truly ranked.. its cause they are being run on a server that came from a authorized server provider like MyIS or whoever.

This is why those of us with a DCON server don't have players cause the normal "noob" player doesn't uncheck "ranked" from the server search and only see those few thus giving those 8 or whatever you saw a clear advantage over the rest. But, as said in other forums its not a competition to get players as it is supporting the mod...just wish these server providers would fix this as they should per EA's Ranked rules etc..

I for one WILL NOT play on a server that is advertised as Ranked...I don't care how many players are in them....

yeah well i seen the bunch of "non ranked", i was just saying how many ranked it showed, or so called ranked, thanks for the info.

I like the mod, i havent got to play it but for maybe an hour (babysitting) but hope to find a good server to play it on. Kinda wish there were more weapons choice's or maybe i just havent hit the right server yet.

i think theres more to it than that. we have all ours through myis and when the ranked servers first started showing up during usi and killing our playerbase we asked them to rank our mod server so we could compete for players and they wanted no part of it.

player relations at EA told me this, quoted right from my support ticket:

"I have done some further research and apparently those are not servers being maintained by a Ranked Server Provider, but rather independent unranked servers that are able to modify their files to make the Battlefield client believe that they are ranked, when they are not. Due to this fact, our team does not have the ability to remove them from the list of ranked servers (we can only remove servers that are genuine ranked servers, reporting stats to the central database). However, we have forwarded the servers in question on to GameSpy and they will be looking in to the possibility of preventing these servers from displaying as ranked servers."


for dcon theres no getting around it, if you want to play a game with more than 20 people in the US your going to have to play the "ranked" servers but id just stick with ckw, its much easier to deal with base raping than it is to deal with nbk's overly abusive admins.

that was very disturbing to say the least... I'm curious on what files they modified to show that? :hmm:

No files were changed. What happens is that the server itself has it's on ranking system called ABR. I got this from a thread in another forum. If you want you can try it, but I am not responsible for anything.


Alternative Battlefield Ranking (aka ABR) is a rewrite of the ranking backend that allows for multiple worlds, one of which is the DCON world.

Please note that this has nothing to do with EA's official ranked servers, other than that it uses the same in-game mechanisms such as BFHQ, award notifications, rank indications.

To enable ABR on your server, you will have to:
- create a forum account on battlefieldranking.net and log in
- Register your server
- Double check that your server entry actually has a servername entered.

o retrieve stats, you can let your users know that they can use the ABR client available from http://www.battlefieldranking.net/ which will show stats in-game in BFHQ.

ABR on itsself does not create the ranked tag in the server list. Proven fact.

It's not an "Official" DCon ranking system yet, but MasterX has started a ranking setup that servers can be set up on. Check the other thread for more info.
