Whens the Official BF2142 site going to be up?

I agree. Then again the fans that put together those unofficial sites are more dedicated, where as the offical sites more or less a giant online advertisement that just happens to give out patches every month or two.

4-5 five months? What I've been hearing is that the game will be released in october. Its July right now...thats only three months, I seriously doubt that they would dare to push back the release date, competition with Quake Wars has gone out of hand. They obviously thought that Quake Wars would be a good competitor, but now roughly 40% of the BF2 community have gone over, or plan to buy Quake Wars as well. Since QW is coming out earlier, promises a better net code, has less bugs, and has two unique races, BF2142 is in danger of being blown away. I'm also seriously considering buying QW simply because the creators have a bit of the old gaming community in them. Like Blizzard (a freaking kickass developer) they will be offering FREE, thats right I said FREE, booster packs. I have no clue how going 110% and giving us some free stuff would hurt EA or DICE, being the huge companies that they are. So far, what we've gotten in free content is about half of a booster pack worth of features. The booster packs that we have gotten, besides special forces, don't deserve to be called booster packs for the extra side and vehicles that have been included in them. God I wish that DICE would give us some free stuff.

Free stuff so far: Wake Island 2007, Road to Jalabad, Car Dropping...keep it coming DICE.:evil:

My bad on the months I meant nothing buying jsut meant that we are closer to it and that still ther ewas no site up. I too hope that we get free stuff.

Quake wars is a linear style of playing. Objectives have to be completed in a 1,2,3 set fashion. BF2 you can take a flag or go where you want when you want. Quake wars will be like playing super mario brothers.

I have nothing against quake wars..I loved Quake 1,2, and 4. I just think as far as multiplayer goes ID software has always lacked the luster and experience..ID is great at building graphics engines and making single player games. I will buy both bf2142 and quakewars just because QW looks cool, but BF2142 will have much better replayability, richness, and longevity than QW..just wait and see when all the QW fans start getting board after a couple months with the same old repetitive linear style of playing and then they will buy bf2142.
