I've been thinking about the new titan mode. It seems to me, that we don't need 64 player support for the mode. The rounds would probably take forever to win, because the outposts will continually be taken and retaken. It would be hectic, and there would not be a winner for hours, meaning that everyone on the map will probably have a 100+ point score, which is pretty cool. Also, if you guys have forgotten, 16, 32, and 64 player servers aren't the only flavors that servers come in. There are also 24, 20, 40, and 48 player servers. Plus you can select any number of slots for a server from 2-64 players. If the people at DICE have not found a way to create 64 player servers, perhaps they will allow 48 player support? Its nearly as good, and won't be as hectic, but I like hectic.:D

I think titan mode should be able to support up to 64 player's, but I think the best number would be 48.
Having 64 would just please everyone.

they said it would support 64....and btw you can destroy the titan with other things then silos....silos are just helping and is a spawn point...don't worry they tought about it not like bf2

I can't wait for the day when games can support 128 players for BF type games that have huge wide open battlegrounds. I bet that BF3 will include support for more than 64 player servers since it will be based off a new graphics engine. Also as broadband connections and PCs get faster its only a matter of time before we get 128 player servers.
Back to Bf2142 I think The more players the better in these huge maps. I just hope that we will have a map or 2 like Karkand where there is a lot of closer quarter combat.
I do see it being a lot more difficult with 64 people in Titan mode caping those Missile silo nodes so quickly. It will be an area with lots of slaughtering I'm sure. I just hope that we don't get a bunch of people in tanks or battlewalkers bombaring the missile silo areas constantly when infantry is trying to take it over...it will be like shooting fish in a barrel since the team that turns the node cant leave the area if they dont want the node turned over to the other team.

wait i thought they said silos weren't spawn points only titans and apcs can any1 back that up??

Ok i will sort all your problems out!!!!
When you capture a missle silo when the counter is at 2 mins say now enemy captures it when counter is at 1.30 mins so the counter still counts, it wont reset, only if you capture missle silo when enemy missle is in flight will the missle lose track.

You donīt need to use silos to destroy the shields and you donīt need to blow the Titan up from the inside so I think it should support 64 players
48 is the best on any BF map. 32 Is still good. 64 is a lil too much.
But thats probably just me.

Wrong, they said Titan mode as of now is 32 max.
You donīt need to use silos to destroy the shields and you donīt need to blow the Titan up from the inside so I think it should support 64 players
Yes you do need missles to destroy sheild unless you want to sit on the ground for an hour and a half and shoot at it will tanks.
And even after you take sheild out the only way to get titan out of the ski is to take core out.

I love 64 players on one map, but I hate when anybody on the server has a ping above 150...

dude you think silos are that powerful?...DICE/EA said a game lenght would be like 20-25 minutes...the silos only shoot at all 2 minutes...so you gotta do it with armors and hovers....i ahte noobs that think they know it all.....no comments

Well...it said that normal weapons could actually damage the titan...so maybe at the start of each game there should be a ritual, everyone shoots one ful clip of ammo at the titan, should start things off no?

That's not what I've seen.. from the PBF preview it looked pretty clear that the counter was reset each time the silo swapped hands.

I may be mistaken but I think I read somewhere that Titan mode is limited to 32 players... have to check on that. You should have a lower count for this mode simply because as stated, the rounds could either go forever with neither team getting off a missle launch or a real short round with one dominant side. But as for conquest, it is a different story- bring in the huge maps with 128 player support! That would be awesome madness!

I doubt many computers out there could handle it at even low-medium graphics.
I know mine couldn't, and I run BF2 on mostly medium settings.

128 player's should be saved for another year or 3, In that time better cards will be out that can handle it and with the minium cost:)

I hate noobs thats think they are right when they are totally wrong.
What I said is EXACTLY what Markus Nelson (Head of BF2142) said in like 3 video interviews.
There are 5 silos on every map, they shoot every 2 mins, so in 20 mins thats enough to shoot the sheilds down. (Of course this is if you control them the whole time)
Again, this was from an article that was on BF2142.com
At teh E3 showing I belive there was only 3 silos but on that article on BF2142 they said 5

Well... if the number of noobs waiting for a chopper in a standard game of Wake2007 is about 7/32.. then 128 players means there'll be 14/64 waiting for the vehicle.
The teamkilling would be outrageous.. you think you know bad? Double the population.
As I've said before, as the population increases the ratio of normal persion to idiot is exponential.

I think people are forgetting that with the bigger maps and more players would come more vehicles for each team... but you are right, the ratio of TK would remain the same. But with bigger maps there would be more of an emphasis on the engineer role because people will not want to drive a tank across half the map only to be bombed to within 1 bar of life and then have to abandon it.

I think we really shouldn't go further than 64 right now. THink about the job of commanding 64 dudes (on a 128 server that is), you'd need multiple commanders and the maps would have to be huge, or everything will be way too focused. Playing 64 players in a 16 player map is also just not any fun. (except if you have a DAO-12 ;) )
And as other people have already stated, what about the last flags? That would be total chaos. Also if one team slips up for a minute and steals the other team's armor. Already feel like taking on 12 tanks with only infantry?

Yesh, if you drove 32 people together, with vehicles, your computer would probably start to lag, however, on a huge maps, which BF2 is famous for, it would be OK. If you had an ENORMOUS map, 128 people is playable. Also..your PC's must rock..I know for sure that when near 128 people in a confined space, my PC won't just lagg, it'll also do really cool tricks, such as: crackle, fizz, catch on fire, and explode and kill the ricemeister.
