The Point of Existence 2 (http://www.pointofexistence.com/) mod team is back today with their latest update showcasing a new video and wallpaper. Here's what they had to say:

Welcome back to another PoE news update. First off we have a brand new video to showcase of a map Jilted (http://www.pointofexistence.com/forums/index.php?showforum=14) has been working on for a long time. The map, Olesko Castle, is an infantry guys dream with long corridors and lots of options for attacking or defending inside this vast castle. Illicitfilms (http://www.pointofexistence.com/forums/index.php?showforum=24) has been working on this video he made with our testers and we hope you enjoy it.

Not only does this map have normal conquest mode but Seigman has produced a brand new game mode that can be mixed into regular rotation. Here is a brief description of our new game mode.

in•cur•sion - noun
raid: a brief, hostile, and usually sudden invasion of somebody's territory.

This is an incursion map. The attacking team must take and hold one of two flags within the allotted time or destroy the defending team. Defending team must guard both flags from attack or destroy the attacking team. You will only have one life per round.

that map looks awesome!
will it have bot support? eg do the custom meshes have col3's?

Wow, incursion mode sounds good. Not only is the map Counter-Strike inspired, but so is the game mode, well done, Jilted and Seigman :)

Me for one does not like the incursion-mode idea.. I left CS along time ago and the reason was the sneaking and slow advance. I wan't brutal action and where hitting your head bloody time and time again eventually pays off breaking through the wall.. I like to run in the front taking the first bullet for my team mates. But with incursion I'll find myself trying to stick in the back so I don't have to sit and wait for 20 min before one team is killed off and another round and life can start again.

Don't get me wrong though.. Otherwise I loooove POE2!!! It is the mod that made me totally leave vanilla BF2.. I haven't gone back since.

The map still has conquest mode and frontline as well.

new game modes are always welcome additions and this map looks amazing!

im sure the wait will be well worth it, i remember hearing rumors of how good this map was coming along even before the first release. i cant wait to finally see it and do some infantry combat in that castle.



will this map be purely German vrs Ukraine?

Yes, all new statics in this release have col3's. Unfortunately this map has not been navmeshed for this release, but it definatly will in a future release :)

Jilted, me and sava were discussing in Vent the map and we were wondering, what is the light source for the interior of the castle? Just curious if you were going to add in some new interior statics like candles or torches or gas powered chandeliers.

In the end, it doesn't matter because the map is just plain brilliant and we can't wait to play it.

A tremendous amount of work has gone into our airforces, you will find a much more balanced experience in our next release.

No additional lighting has been added to the interior of the castle, honestly the project was just dragging on too long and I wanted to wrap it up. I think the mood is set very well and the lighting should be reasonable for nearly all players.

Fantastic, I love maps with special statics, for atmosphere and to feel one is playing something unique.

But I also agree it could be very worthy to add some lighting in the interior
