Hey you guys, with the upcoming release of BF2142, I just wanted to ask you guys in high school how it goes with time management. I plan to play two sports in the fall season (cross country and soccer, and then one sport in the spring (soccer). I'm entering ninth grade next year, how is it with time management? Is it easy to balance homework with gameplay? Can you maintain good grades while getting in a "good" 10+ hours of gameplay a week? I start school at 9:30, and wil probably get home at 4-6+ because of sports. I'm thinking 2-4 hours of homework after that...leaves me at 10 o'clock, I could play, or I could sleep.

im a junior in high school (prob one of the toughtest years) but my fresh and sophmore years were pretty flexible bc we had time inclass for hm so i could play at night so if u can do hm inclass that will really help

I'm not exactly the best person to ask because my teachers almost never gave me homework, anytime they did I would finish it before class ended.
I get enogth play time in to suit me.

BTW your school's time is weird. I goto school from 7:20am-2:20pm

Yes, I do know its weird, my current school's time is from 7:30-2:10, however, I'm going to a really good high school, in fact, one of the best in my state because my parents made me do it. Thats how azn parents are ;). The school is supposed to get me into a really good college...and I'll probably not end up a bum, but a millionare or something..

When I was in school (15 years ago!) I used to get home at 2pm then usually hang outside with friends until 5pm then eat & do homework. After that was my "free time" before I had to turn in at 9pm. So I usually got about maybe 2 hours in the evening. Of course this was long before BF so I probably would have been getting up early at like 5am just to get a few extra hours in!

I must have been lucky, my school hours were 9.30am to 2.55pm
smoko at 10.30 for half an hour
lunch at 12 for an hour.
As for homework, I never wanted to go to Uni so no homework for me, I was out playin footy, partying and just having fun:D
I'd rather be shoveling concrete now than going to Uni, because I make more money in a week than 5 of my mates going to uni combined:D
If you dont mind gettin your hands dirty, theres's a sh*t load of money to be made as a tradie.

Uni = CollegeUni = College

Wow...splinter...you never got a full education? The life that you've had sounds pretty fun, but in an azn household like mine, not doing homework, getting good grades, and going to soccer practice, is just asking for a beating. My parents are immigrants from China, or hometown china. Dude, the word "educashun" is gold around here, my parents would freaking disown me if I didn't work hard in school, plus I'd lose my PC  . Any other azns out there that can relate? I don't really wanna become a construction worker...I think if I work hard, I'll become a lawyer like I always wanted to be, and make 150k+ a year like my dad does. (Hes a computer programmer). :D

I've never gotten an A in my life, I hated school, the only subject I liked was history, hell I knew more than my teacher did, he knew it and I knew it, that's why he gave me a C. I had an english teacher who couldnt speak english, she was from the Ukraine. A math teacher from India who when asked one day if he had a vagina, replyed "yes I do"... :|:
I droped out of school during 3rd term in year 11, While my mate's were in school learning about crap they will never use (aussie public schooling is a joke), I was earning 20 bucks an hour, getting as fit as Arnie and learning stuff that would actually help me in life.
My mate's father is a plumber, he'll earn 100k+ on an "ok" year.

Ill be moving to Hefei City, in Anhui Province in a year to start full time wushu training:cool: Im not going to college, but I know the consequences about my decisions, but I dont care. Fancy degrees dont mean jack sh*t to me, and I doubt they will mean anything to the casting directors in china, as thats what I want to do with my life, be the next jackie chan :D

I reckon a Uni degree is overrated myself, just because someone has a peace of paper that say's their an expert doesnt mean jack.
for example, about a month ago, I was working for this guy paining his house. This guy went to Uni and has a degree that say's he's a builder. Now he wanted me to paint his house, which I did, he then decide's, I'll get the floor boards polished. Well if he actually knew anything about building, you should ALWAY's polish the floors before painting, so I had to go around and repaint all the walls (well TBH all I did was scrub them real good but I still charged him for 2 full coats none the less:P).
I then told him to remove the skirting boards at the bottom of the walls so I could paint there, the idiot takes a hammer to the skirting boards and punches holes in the wall every meter while taking them off:|:
He then had to get a plaster'er in to fix the walls. I then had to go around and re-repaint them as well, (charged him 2 full coats again).
The guy was so impressed with my work he asked me to come back, I declined (cause I dont work for idiot's.
This guy has a degree from Uni in building and he doesnt know sh*t.
All in all I charged him 20 grand for the paint/labour. He even gave me a tip:D

Well you can't teach common sence thats all I can say.

Even if people got it sometimes they forget to use it. (Happens more than I would like to admit lol)

I don't like to use my real age. The way I figure it, a child molester prefers a 14 year old to a 19 year old...got any better ideas? Sadly...I know a guy who is 16 and still in 8th grade. His name is Doug, and he can't spell his last name any longer...However, he has his own crappy car, which he drives to my middle school everyday, and all the teachers know and like him...even though he fails most of their classes..he managed to get a negative score in math...since he had a "0" percent in the class, but chewed gum and got -300 points in the class...sad but true, the teacher took off one point for each time he caught you eating gum. Of course, I'm not in any of his classes...me being azn prety much sums it up. I'm in all GT, or in my parts..all honors :p .

LIESSSSS!!
truth is he does'nt want other gamers to jump to the
zomg 12year old noob conclusion;)
He's 15 from what I've gathered, but he is still very mature:p
You dont have to lie about your age mate, and beside's those nasty internet predator's wont get you if you dont talk to them.
It's like seeing lions at the Zoo, you dont go up to their cage, stick your arm through the bar's and yell
HERE KITTY KITTY KITTY, MMM I TASTE GOOD!!!
Dont go near them and you wont have any problems.:)

OK whats the plan, really? You wanna be on 1/3 the top player's score or you wanna be a statswhoring bf crackhead? Gaming can be addictive. Why do you think the chinese have laws against it?

I play for fun, if I didn't, gaming wouldn't be fun, it would be a chore, which is just about the stupidest thing ever. If I don't feel like getting on the computer, I'd just go outside, find one of my friends, and spend the afternoon player football, or american football.
