but couldnt someone see them or are they meant to go on vehicle spawn areas to keep the people away?if they did that a medic could always revive couldnt they?

You drop those into the grass/vegetation on a map and I assure you.. You WILL NOT see them. Unlike Claymores or Mines, where you get a symbol that the weapon is there. There is no indication that they are there.
They still need a good testing. I may have to add that feature to them, to prevent friendly deaths. However, I do have them set up to where they should not hurt the team that deployed them. If this fails to work as I have it planned. Then I will add the symbol to indicate that they are there for your team to see them.
They are made to be dropped anywhere. The reason they are on the concrete is to show them. Yes, you could be revived by a medic if you were to die from the Caltrops.
