The Desert Conflict (http://desert-conflict.org/) mod team is back today with an update on their upcoming release. Here's what they had to say:
I'm pleased to say that the next release of Desert Conflict is in our sights. We wish we could have gotten to this point sooner, but things "under the hood" were more complicated than what they originally seemed. The latest build has been a great success with our testers, and I thank them for all their help. I don't have a hard date for release to report yet, but it will be soon.
While the modeling and coding teams were hard at work squashing the lag issues, the other teams were able to continue work on fixes and new content. I will get a list of them all as soon as I can. These will include new vehicle variants, updated sounds, weapon and vehicle tweaks, and new maps.
I would like to show you all 2 new maps that will accompany the next release. There will be more, but I need to make sure they're going to make it in time for release. The testers have been playing with 6 new maps along with the lag testing. If we're lucky, we may get 4 out to you guys to play with. No promises though.
The first map is tentatively named "Desert Conflict". This map will most likely be a vehicle heavy map with a few pockets of infantry around the towns. The second map is "Close Quarters". This one is infantry only.
